The Nature of Things Physical and Spiritual is a philosophical treatise on the foundations of humanity, our position in the universe, and the world around us. Combining history, astronomy, and religious doctrine from Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, and Christianity, The Nature of Things provides tangible explanations for phenomena unseen and delves into the most pressing of metaphysical queries. Where did we humans come from? How was our universe made? Is there life after death? How can we be happy with our life here on Earth? For those who often find themselves staring up into the stars and daydreaming about the creation of the cosmos; for those who love to skip past small talk and dive into the deep conversation right away, The Nature of Things provides a brain-tingling and well-researched exploration. About the Author Born in Timisoara, Romania, Adi Istudor is a trained and experienced yogi. He currently resides in Long Beach, California.

This book is not merely about metaphysics; it is an essay in metaphysics. Furthermore, it is written in the firm conviction that metaphysics is possible and meaningful metaphysical statements can and should be made. However, I felt it necessary to approach the perennial problems of metaphysics through the avenues of linguistic analysis. I have tried not only to infiltrate the position of the linguists but to show that a fifth column already existed there. Yet the objections to metaphysics needed to be met or at least some indication of how they could be met had to be shown. It is never enough to demonstrate that objections are un founded - some positive indications of a possible metaphysics had to be offered. This book, as a consequence, tries also to draw at least in broad outline, a metaphysical position that seems to me to be well-founded. In the present state of philoso phy in the United States especially, this is sufficient reason for publishing another book in philosophy. I want to express my appreciation to a number of people. To my colleagues at North Carolina I am grateful for stimulating criticisms that often helped me see my way through to solutions. To Professors B. Blanshard (Yale University), and Ledger Wood (Princeton University), I am grateful for reading the manuscript.

Authentic Metaphysics In An Age Of Unreality Second Edition written by Leo Sweeney and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-03-19 with Philosophy categories.
In an age where appearances are often substituted for what really is, deception and falsity for honesty and truth, this metaphysics book takes things 'as they actually are' and discovers that reality 'is' actuality (which as subsistent is God), that philosophical knowledge in its content is caused by what is known and is objectively true. It considers goodness and beauty, human existents as individual, relational units (e.g., the family), agents and goals, chance and evil. It is in contrast with Sartrean existentialism, process philosophy, linguistic analysis, phenomenology, hermeneutics, and deconstructionism.

The Nature Of Consciousness written by Mark Rowlands and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2001-10-11 with Philosophy categories.
In The Nature of Consciousness, Mark Rowlands develops an innovative account of the nature of phenomenal consciousness, one that has significant consequences for attempts to find a place for it in the natural order. The most significant feature of consciousness is its dual nature: consciousness can be both the directing of awareness and that upon which awareness is directed. Rowlands offers a clear and philosophically insightful discussion of the main positions in this fast-moving debate, and argues that the phenomenal aspects of conscious experience are aspects that exist only in the directing of experience towards non-phenomenal objects, a theory that undermines reductive attempts to explain consciousness in terms of what is not conscious. His book will be of interest to a wide range of readers in the philosophy of mind and language, psychology and cognitive science.
