Nelson Mandela once said, "No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite." In this gripping tale of hatred, love conquers all... Product Description Extremely caring nurse Charmayne has developed a soft spot for her cancer patient, Alexis. That is until her father Derrick judges her based on the color of her skin. But soon Derrick comes to learn, it isn't about who's black or white, but the truth in our hate can lead you toward the light. Excerpt Alexis was lying on her side in the bed with Trina holding one of the hospital basins beneath her as she vomited into it chokingly. Beside them Yvette was attempting to gently insert an IV into her hand, but was obviously finding it difficult because of Alexis' current state. A man was sitting on Alexis' other side, stroking her hair softly, but the more she continued to throw up, Charmayne could see the muscle working in his jaw. Every few seconds he looked from Alexis to Yvette.Trina's voice was shaken and desperate as she continued to watch Alexis throw up into the basin she was holding, "Isn't there something you can give her until that damn test comes in?""Until we know exactly what the CBC says I don't think we should give Alexis anything too heavy, Mrs. Carson," Yvette replied, still concentrating on the IV. "In a few minutes I can ask my sup--""Do you think you can just ask your supervisor to come in here please?" The man next to Alexis cut in when she squirmed under the dig of the needle. "I don't think this is helping much.""Yes I know, I apologize Mr. Roberson, it's just hard to get a good vein in her arm with her shaking--""She's shaking because she's throwing up!" Trina exclaimed frustratingly, shooting Yvette a dirty glare."It itched," Alexis explained meekly. "I scratched it til it started to hurt so I pulled it out.""Mm, well you're braver for pulling it out than getting it put back in in my book," Char smiled as she lifted the hand to look at it. "Means this shouldn't be too bad.""What was it doing itching her like that anyway?" The man asked skeptically as he looked at Alexis' hand too. "If it's put in the right way it shouldn't bother her at all, right?""The IV was put it in properly the last time, sir, I can assure you; I did it myself.""Then why the itching? Doesn't that sort of thing happen with dirty needles or unsterilized hands?"Trina rubbed her temples as she ground out, "Derrick...""Or the same way neither of you obviously knows how to put in a IV? Jesus, is there something you people actually do know how to do?"You people."I've been a registered nurse for almost 9 years--5 of those have been as this hospital's chief nurse of Pediatrics, Mr. Roberson. I'm more than capable of treating your daughter." Charmayne didn't know why she felt the need to state her qualifications to this asshole (though the reason behind his skepticism was all too clear to her now). But the look on his face--the look that had been on his face ever since she'd walked into the room--was getting under her skin. It would take an idiot not to know what this guy was thinking.

Abandon dead, dry, religious rule-keeping and embrace the promise of being truly known and deeply loved. Jefferson Bethke burst into the cultural conversation with a passionate, provocative poem titled "Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus." The 4-minute video became an overnight sensation, with 7 million YouTube views in its first 48 hours (and 23+ million in a year). Bethke's message clearly struck a chord with believers and nonbelievers alike, triggering an avalanche of responses running the gamut from encouraged to enraged. In his New York Times bestseller Jesus > Religion, Bethke unpacks similar contrasts that he drew in the poem--highlighting the difference between teeth gritting and grace, law and love, performance and peace, despair, and hope. With refreshing candor, he delves into the motivation behind his message, beginning with the unvarnished tale of his own plunge from the pinnacle of a works-based, fake-smile existence that sapped his strength and led him down a path of destructive behavior. Along the way, Bethke gives you the tools you need to: Humbly and prayerfully open your mind Understand Jesus for all that he is View the church from a brand-new perspective Bethke is quick to acknowledge that he's not a pastor or theologian, but simply an ordinary, twenty-something who cried out for a life greater than the one for which he had settled. On this journey, Bethke discovered the real Jesus, who beckoned him with love beyond the props of false religion. Praise for Jesus > Religion: "Jeff's book will make you stop and listen to a voice in your heart that may have been drowned out by the noise of religion. Listen to that voice, then follow it--right to the feet of Jesus." --Bob Goff, author of New York Times bestsellers Love Does and Everybody, Always "The book you hold in your hands is Donald Miller's Blue Like Jazz meets C. S. Lewis's Mere Christianity meets Augustine's Confessions. This book is going to awaken an entire generation to Jesus and His grace." --Derwin L. Gray, lead pastor of Transformation Church, author of Limitless Life: Breaking Free from the Labels That Hold You Back

Hating God written by Bernard Schweizer and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-11-04 with Religion categories.

While atheists such as Richard Dawkins have now become public figures, there is another and perhaps darker strain of religious rebellion that has remained out of sight--people who hate God. In this revealing book, Bernard Schweizer looks at men and women who do not question God's existence, but deny that He is merciful, competent, or good. Sifting through a wide range of literary and historical works, Schweizer finds that people hate God for a variety of reasons. Some are motivated by social injustice, human suffering, or natural catastrophes that God does not prevent. Some blame God for their personal tragedies. Schweizer concludes that, despite their blasphemous thoughts, these people tend to be creative and moral individuals, and include such literary lights as Friedrich Nietzsche, Mark Twain, Zora Neale Hurston, Rebecca West, Elie Wiesel, and Philip Pullman. Schweizer shows that literature is a fertile ground for God haters. Many authors, who dare not voice their negative attitude to God openly, turn to fiction to give vent to it. Indeed, Schweizer provides many new and startling readings of literary masterpieces, highlighting the undercurrent of hatred for God. Moreover, by probing the deeper mainsprings that cause sensible, rational, and moral beings to turn against God, Schweizer offers answers to some of the most vexing questions that beset human relationships with the divine.

God’s timing is not our timing, but the bible is clear that judgment will come. America will be judged for its misdeeds one day. It is the author’s hope that people will re-read the bible and encourage people to read this book to know that the author’s goal is to first save souls and second save our country. Ideally, we need to be in a financial position to help others. To resolve problems in this country we must be honest and accept the truth to move forward. Most Americans including the author need all their income to pay bills and have means to enjoy themselves. The true minority in America is the rich who do not live paycheck to paycheck but have either generational wealth or maximized their talents to become prosperous. Hopefully, anyone who became rich did not compromise their morality or abuse, misuse, or oppress others for their personal gain. If so, pray that they repent. Our country is in trouble as Compromised Christianity, Atheism, Agnosticism, and Satanic influence is on the rise while Bible Believing Christians are declining, getting older, and are dying off. It has been said that those who ignore history repeat history. Dr. Martin Luther King once stated that truth suppressed to earth shall rise again. The author is here to talk about the truth that is rising in our time now.

An investigation of hate speech: legal approaches, current controversies, and suggestions for limiting its spread. Hate speech can happen anywhere--in Charlottesville, Virginia, where young men in khakis shouted, "Jews will not replace us"; in Myanmar, where the military used Facebook to target the Muslim Rohingya; in Capetown, South Africa, where a pastor called on ISIS to rid South Africa of the "homosexual curse." In person or online, people wield language to attack others for their race, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or other aspects of identity. This volume in the MIT Press Essential Knowledge series examines hate speech: what it is, and is not; its history; and efforts to address it.

Since the death of Martin Luther King, Jr., it seems that we as black Americans have lost our way; we, as did the Hebrew Israelites, have been wandering in the "wilderness of sin and debauchery" for forty-plus years and have not been able to enter into the Promised Land. We have followed blind guides who have led us wandering in the wilderness. We have followed self-proclaimed black leaders whose leadership have been marred by deception, dishonesty, egotism, and a lack of integrity. For several years now, I have wrestled and agonized with the disturbing notion "Will somebody please stand up and tell my people the truth?" We have sabotaged our own selves and are losing the race; thusly, we have been detoured from entering the Promised Land. Sammie L. Madison

This is a journey into the mind and life of humanity. From inception, the foundations of our consciousness, thoughts, desire, and actions are explained in entirety. You will learn the reasons for the many questions you have inside. There is only one requirement, first, you must learn to see reality. Most understand true happiness is not of ourselves. We cannot give ourselves peace. We cannot even know true beauty. This comes from an "understanding" of "Life" (the life inside). We cannot declare reality and Truth. And since we did not create reality, how can we proclaim what it is, or how it functions? So also, how can we proclaim our individuality from it? Thus, the concept of "self" within mankind is an illusion. Our "self" has resulted in ego--personal thoughts, desires, and actions intended to recognize, and believed to reward, us. Experience within the "unknowing mind" is an exercise in ignorance. Humanity continues to prove this condition on a daily basis. What are ideas inside minds, if not guesses from within ignorance to describe all which exists and all which should be done inside it? This is when we began deciding for ourselves, what is good and what is bad, what is correct and what is incorrect, what something is and what it is not. Now the world has become filled with many false assumptions, and also many superficial and hedonistic practices. The concept of "self" is the cause.

Consumed By Hate Redeemed By Love written by Thomas A. Tarrants and has been published by HarperChristian + ORM this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-08-06 with Religion categories.

"Riveting, inspiring, at times hard to believe but utterly true...it gives some measure of hope in these rancorous times." -- John Grisham As an ordinary high school student in the 1960s, Tom Tarrants became deeply unsettled by the social upheaval of the era. In response, he turned for answers to extremist ideology and was soon utterly radicalized. Before long, he became involved in the reign of terror spread by Mississippi's dreaded White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, described by the FBI as the most violent right-wing terrorist organization in America. In 1969, while attempting to bomb the home of a Jewish leader in Meridian, Mississippi, Tom was ambushed by law enforcement and shot multiple times during a high-speed chase. Nearly dead from his wounds, he was arrested and sentenced to thirty years in the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman Farm. Unrepentant, Tom and two other inmates made a daring escape from Parchman yet were tracked down by an FBI SWAT team and apprehended in hail of bullets that killed one of the convicts. Tom spent the next three years alone in a six-foot-by-nine-foot cell. There he began a search for truth that led him to the Bible and a reading of the gospels, resulting in his conversion to Jesus Christ and liberation from the grip of racial hatred and violence. Astounded by the change in Tom, many of the very people who worked to put him behind bars began advocating for his release. After serving eight years of a 35-year sentence, Tom left prison. He attended college, moved to Washington, DC, and became copastor of a racially mixed church. He went on to earn a doctorate and became the president of the C. S. Lewis Institute, where he devoted himself to helping others become wholehearted followers of Jesus. A dramatic story of radical transformation, Consumed by Hate, Redeemed by Love demonstrates that hope is not lost even in the most tumultuous of times, even those similar to our own. "As a kid in Mississippi in the late 1960's, I remember the men of our church discussing the Klan's bombing campaign against the Jews. The men did not disapprove. Later, I would use this fascinating chapter of civil rights history as the backdrop for my novel The Chamber. Now, one of the bombers, Thomas Tarrants, tells the real story in this remarkable memoir. It is riveting, inspiring, at times hard to believe but utterly true, and it gives some measure of hope in these rancorous times." --John Grisham "Dramatic...Simply astonishing...Essential reading for these times. If you want to understand how the evil of extremist thought works--and how the gospel of God’s grace can overcome it--read this book." --Mark Batterson, New York Times bestselling author of The Circle Maker, lead pastor of National Community Church "Amazing...Gives hope for what God can do." --Dr. John Perkins, president emeritus, John Perkins Foundation; co-founder emeritus, Christian Community Development Association "A riveting narrative." --Russell Moore, president, the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention "This gripping and inspiring story is as timely as today’s headlines....Put on your seatbelt and prepare to enter into one of the most extraordinary true stories you’ll ever encounter!" --Lee Strobel, best-selling author of The Case for Christ and The Case for Grace "Reveals how easily a political ideology can grow into a radical, extreme, life-taking worldview, all the while masquerading for some supposed form of a 'Christian' faith....A powerful story!" --Eric C. Redmond, associate professor of Bible, Moody Bible Institute, Chicago
