The author of the critically acclaimed Memory of Water returns with this literary ecological tale in the vein of Ursula K. Le Guin and Sheri S. Tepper, in which an innocent young woman becomes entangled in a web of ancient secrets and deadly lies that lie at the dark center of her prosperous island world. Eliana is a model citizen of the island, a weaver in the prestigious House of Webs. She also harbors a dangerous secret—she can dream, an ability forbidden by the island’s elusive council of elders. No one talks about the dreamers, the undesirables ostracized from society. But the web of protection Eliana has woven around herself begins to unravel when a young girl is found lying unconscious in a pool of blood on the stones outside the house. Robbed of speech by her attackers, the only clue to her identity is one word tattooed in invisible ink across her palm: Eliana. Why does this mysterious girl bear her name? What links her to the weaver—and could she hold Eliana’s fate in her hand? As Eliana finds herself growing closer to this injured girl she is bound to in ways she doesn’t understand, the enchanting lies of the island begin to crumble, revealing a deep and ancient corruption. Joining a band of brave rebels determined to expose the island’s dark secrets, Eliana becomes a target of ruthless forces determined to destroy her. To save herself and those she loves, she must call on the power within her she thought was her greatest weakness: her dreams.

The Weaver's Dream was first published in paperback under the name Donna Baker. London, 1824. Life has taken Rebecca far from her humble start in a weaver's cottage in Kidderminster. But although she has found love and comfort with her husband, Francis, it has meant they are both banished from the town that raised them. Instead they must raise their family - and a new business in the bustle of the capital. But when a death finally draws them home to Worcestershire, they find the landscape unchanged, but the poverty increased. Amid the smoke of the factories and the clatter of machinery there is also the growing murmur of unrest as the workers search for a way to express their discontent. For Rebecca, Francis and their young family it means being torn between family duty and sympathy for the weavers' plight. And while they have a dream for the future, will it be strong enough to survive the turmoil ahead?

Cloth was one of the most important commodities in the early modern world, and colonial North Americans had to develop creative strategies to acquire it. Although early European settlers came from societies in which hand textile production was central to the economy, local conditions in North America interacted with traditional craft structures to create new patterns of production and consumption. The Weaver's Craft examines the development of cloth manufacture in early Pennsylvania from its roots in seventeenth-century Europe to the beginning of industrialization. Adrienne D. Hood's focus on Pennsylvania and the long sweep of history yields a new understanding of the complexities of early American fabric production and the regional variations that led to distinct experiences of industrialization. Drawing on an extensive array of primary sources, combined with a quantitative approach, the author argues that in contrast to New England, rural Pennsylvania women spun the yarn that a small group of trained male artisans wove into cloth on a commercial basis throughout the eighteenth century. Their production was considerably augmented by consumers purchasing cheap cloth from Europe and Asia, making them active participants in a global marketplace. Hood's painstaking research and numerous illustrations of textile equipment, swatch books, and consumer goods will be of interest to both scholars and craftspeople.

For a thousand years, the lands ruled by the Cymrian Alliance have been at peace. Choosing her husband will mean the death of thousands of innocents. Siding against him will cost Rhapsody the other half of her soul, both in this life and the next. In The Weaver's Lament, the lines between the past and future are irrevocably blurred, and the strength of true love is tested in unthinkable ways. **The Weaver's Shuttle** is a tapestry woven from the threads of ambition, success, and legacy. It is a story of a man who rose from humble beginnings to become one of the most powerful and influential figures of his time. Our protagonist, John Jacob Astor, was born into a world of poverty and hardship in 1763. But he possessed an unyielding determination to improve his lot in life. He worked tirelessly, honing his skills and knowledge. And through a combination of hard work and good fortune, he eventually achieved great wealth and success. Astor's business acumen was unparalleled. He built a vast fortune through a variety of ventures, including fur trading, real estate, and banking. He was also a major patron of the arts and sciences, and he founded the Astor Library in New York City. But success came at a price. Astor's relentless pursuit of his goals often left him isolated and alone. He sacrificed his personal relationships and his health in his quest for power. And in the end, he realized that true happiness and fulfillment eluded him. **The Weaver's Shuttle** is a cautionary tale about the dangers of unchecked ambition. It is a reminder that true success is not measured by wealth or power, but by the relationships we build and the lives we touch. In this book, we will explore Astor's journey in detail. We will examine his motivations, his successes, and his failures. And we will learn valuable lessons about the nature of ambition, success, and legacy. **The Weaver's Shuttle** is a book that will resonate with anyone who has ever dreamed of achieving great things. It is a book that will inspire you to pursue your goals with passion and determination. But it is also a book that will remind you that true success is not measured by the size of your bank account or the number of people who know your name. True success is measured by the impact you have on the world and the legacy you leave behind. If you like this book, write a review on google books!
