Einige �berinstimmungen im Seelenleben der Wilden und der Neurotiker) es el t�tulo de una obra filos�fica y antropol�gica escrita por el m�dico, neur�logo y librepensador austr�aco Sigmund Freud en 1913. La obra consta de cuatro partes y fue publicada inicialmente en la revista Imago.Este ensayo constituye el intento de Freud de aplicar la teor�a y el m�todo del psicoan�lisis (ya antes descritos por �l con fines cl�nicos) a asuntos de la antropolog�a. La idea que motiva este trabajo es que se podr�a establecer una analog�a entre el desarrollo de las sociedades primitivas y el desarrollo individual del psiquismo humano. La tesis central de este libro queda expresada en la hip�tesis de que existir�a un origen com�n del totemismo y la exogamia, determinados por el conflicto humano fundamental entre el deseo y la prohibici�n. La ambivalencia que caracteriza la relaci�n con el padre en el complejo de Edipo (y en la resoluci�n o salida del complejo de castraci�n) ser�a estructuralmente an�loga al conflicto m�tico que dar�a origen a la cultura: el asesinato de un padre originario perpetrado por el clan de hermanos. La cena tot�mica del padre asesinado simboliza tambi�n la internalizaci�n del padre y de su autoridad o "ley". As�, la cultura y el Supery� tendr�an seg�n la teor�a freudiana un origen estructuralmente paralelo.La obra, en t�rminos generales, trata de buscar una explicaci�n al tab� por el cual ciertas tribus antiguas y primitivas desarrollan un temor supersticioso al incesto. El t�tem es una figura que representa la uni�n de un grupo, no por lazos consangu�neos, sino por pertenecer a la misma imagen tot�mica, que puede ser un animal, una planta o una fuerza natural (rayo, fuego). Esta figura tot�mica representaba los lazos familiares de un grupo, en el cual no se pod�an contraer relaciones ya que eran consideradas incestuosas.Algunas tribus australianas impon�an la costumbre de que el hermano var�n al cumplir su mayor�a de edad, deb�a retirarse del hogar y no pod�a sentarse a comer junto a su hermana; as�, los lazos eran rotos una vez que �ste entraba en la etapa de la pubertad, y de la misma manera se alejaba de la madre.
