Excerpt from Triennial Record IN issuing this Record the editor gratefully acknowledges his indebtedness to Mr. J. H. Keener '97, Mr. 'g. K. Reed '99, Mr. F. P. King 1900, and specially to Mr. A. C. Imbrie '95, the secretaries of their respective classes, for valuable advice and assistance. It is needless to say that he is greatly indebted to those men of his class Whose drawings ornament and enliven the pages of this book; and to George D. Richards for the letter design for the cover. He regrets that the Record is not complete, and specially that the directory and statistical tables are not as accurate as was desired. This is at least partly due to the failure of many men to give the information in their letters which the editor requested, and to the lack of time to pursue these men for that information. But despite these shortcomings he hopes that the book will please the class, and he is sure that it will enter tain them. He puts it in the hands of his classmates with the sincere desire that it will intensify the loyalty to our Alma M ater in which we all rejoice, and that it will strengthen still further the bonds which unite the members of the class of Nineteen Hundred One of Princeton University. Excerpt from The Triennial Record of the Class of 1907 He attended the Elementary Public Schools of Philadelphia, entering the High School in 1899 and graduating from the same in June 1903. He entered the Classical Department of Princeton University, Sept. 1903, from which he graduated in 1907. His purpose was to enter Princeton Seminar to prepare for the Gospel ministry and go to the Punjaub, India as a foreign missionary. Resolutions. Whereas. It has pleased our allwise and all-loving Father in his infinite goodness and mercy to take from us our friend and companion, William Eaton McLean, who had endeared himself to his fellows by his uprightness of character and purity of spirit, and for whose services in the office of President, the Philadelphian Society will always remain profoundly grateful: Therefore. Be it resolved. That we do express our heartfelt grief in his loss and do offer our sincere sympathy to his bereaved family and friends. God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ has called to eternal rest and peace his faithful servant and our beloved brother. Bill McLean. Our hearts are heavy with the sense of our loss and bereavement. Our frailty cannot grasp the purposes of an infinite God. But we know that the kingdom of heaven is richer by one pure soul. Class spirit was present with every man and several had enough to loan others who stayed away through lack of it. This book is supposed to chronicle the events, to re-instill the enthusiasm, and to spread among us the informa tion of our classmates which we were unable to glean by questioning on the balconies of the Tontine. As a whole the 'class have responded very well to the various appeals of the Secretary, and if data is missing about any man it is only because every effort possible has proved of no avail to procure from him any response. In some cases this is due to wrong addresses, and at other times it is merely lack of inter est in the man himself, but as he is himself the greatest sufferer, he will probably next time mend his ways. The Secretary would like to take this opportunity to thank a number who have helped in gathering the information and in a financial way, for these few have made it possible to pro duce a book more worthy of the best triennial ever celebrated in New Haven. To Southard Hay he is also greatly indebted, not only for adding to the material of the book at hand, but also for his untiring devotion to the cause whenever a request, large or small, was thrust upon him.
