A comienzos de la década de los años sesenta del siglo XX, la vida socio-política de Colombia estaba agitada, porque coincidían en el panorama el reciente acuerdo del Frente Nacional celebrado entre los dos partidos tradicionales para alternarse el poder durante 16 años continuos entre 1958 y 1974, como mecanismo de proyección gubernamental, luego de que la junta militar retornara el poder político central, al estamento civil, como corolario del gobierno militar del general Gustavo Rojas Pinilla; el inusitado crecimiento del Partido Comunista y sus guerrillas terroristas, los rezagos de la violencia entre liberales y conservadores en las zonas rurales; las ambiciones egocéntricas de Alfonso López Michelsen que se inventó una escisión del partido liberal y se alió con los comunistas en búsqueda del poder y la descarada incidencia de la recién subida dictadura cubana de los hermanos Castro, en apoyo del terrorismo comunista contra Colombia. En esos días, tres intelectuales colombianos publicaron un documento sesgado,que titularon La Violencia en Colombia, que pretendía liberar de toda responsabilidad a los comunistas y los liberales gaitanistas de las atrocidades diarias cometidas por las cuadrillas armadas de sus partidos políticos, sindicando al partido conservador y a las Fuerzas Armadas de la tragedia. Enfocado en reconstruir la verdad histórica el profesor universitario y abogado Alonso Moncada Abello, realizó una exhaustiva historiografía de la violencia fratricida, sin ocultar la responsabilidad delictiva y política de cada uno de los actores. Así, en nueve capítulos complementados con fotografías y documentos originales, el autor analiza y describe la responsabilidad histórica de liberales y conservadores en los niveles de violencia alcanzados durante mas de dos décadas, la filosofía comunista de la violencia como método de acción para la toma del poder, la irresponsabilidad crónica de los medios de comunicación que terminan siendo cómplices de los terroristas, la responsabilidad del dirigente campesino comunista Juan de la Cruz Varela en la organiación de cuadrillas de bandidos en el Tolima y Cundinamarca, la aparición de repúblicas independientes orientadas por el Partido Comunista en diversos lugares del país, la aparición de las guerrillas del Movimiento Obrero Estudiantil Campesino con cuadrillas de forajidos armados en el Vichada y las asociaciones para delinquir orquestadas por los comunistas colombianos, que desde entonces proyectaban el nacimiento de las Farc. Sin lugar a dudas, Un Aspecto de la Violencia, es un libro de obligatoria lectura para quien se interese por conocer los orígenes del sucesivo desarrollo del narcoterrorismo comunista del Eln, el M-19, el Epl y las Farc contra Colombia, al la par que constiuye un valioso documento para los historiadores, sociologos, geopolítologos y analistas del complejo conflicto colombiano, que ha asediado a Colombia durante más de cinco décadas.
