This management book presents value-driven business process management as a successful discipline to turn strategy into people- and technology-based execution, quickly and at minimal risk. It shows how to achieve high performance successfully in a digital business environment. Static business models do not keep pace with the dynamic changes in our digital world. Organizations need a management approach that fits this environment and capitalizes on its opportunities while minimizing the related risks. They need to execute their business strategy fast and reliably. In effect, they have to know how and when to modify or enhance their business processes, which processes are the best candidates for intervention, and how to move rapidly from strategy to execution. This means organizations need to establish business process management as a real management discipline. The importance of process innovation, digital technology and people aspects, process governance, internationalization, emerging processes and the unique situation in mid-market organizations are some of the key topics discussed in this book. It ends with a comprehensive case study and a discussion about what process engineers can learn from jazz musicians.

Companies--especially more complex organizations--require standard, documented processes and procedures to achieve high levels of quality and productivity. Too few, and inefficiency ensues; too many, and creativity is stifled. Yet it can be difficult to find training on process improvement--and the range of complicated tools available could make even the most experienced professional's head spin. Successful Business Process Management fills the gap, providing a succinct, accessible overview of the field. Step-by-step instructions explain how to: Overcome resistance and apathy to standard procedures Take a systematic rather than ad hoc approach to process management Design key processes and capture them in documented procedures Revise existing processes when feasible Roll out the changes so people know what to do Embed them in the organization for reliable outcomes Process management serves as a structural framework for streamlining activities and creating smooth workflows. Get it right--neither overly rigid nor under developed--and an outflow of continuous improvements will drive long-term success.

Business Modeling And Software Design written by Boris Shishkov and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-06-13 with Computers categories.
This book contains revised and extended versions of selected papers from the Fifth International Symposium on Business Modeling and Software Design, BMSD 2015, held in Milan, Italy, in July 2015. The symposium was organized and sponsored by the Interdisciplinary Institute for Collaboration and Research on Enterprise Systems and Technology (IICREST), being co-organized by Politecnico di Milano and technically co-sponsored by BPM-D. Cooperating organizations were Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), the U Twente Center for Telematics and Information Technology (CTIT), the BAS Institute of Mathematics and Informatics (IMI), the Dutch Research School for Information and Knowledge Systems (SIKS), and AMAKOTA Ltd. BMSD 2015 received 57 paper submissions from which 36 papers were selected for publication in the BMSD'15 proceedings. 14 of those papers were selected as full papers. Additional post-symposium reviewing was carried out reflecting both the qualities of the papers and the way they were presented. 10 best papers were selected for the Springer edition (mainly from the BMSD'15 full papers). The 10 papers published in this book were carefully revised and extended (following the reviewers' comments) from the papers presented. The selection considers a large number of BMSD-relevant research topics: from business-processes-related topics, such as process mining and discovery, (dynamic) business process management (and process-aware information systems), and business process models and ontologies (including reflections into the Business Model Canvas); through software-engineering-related topics, such as domain-specific languages and software quality (and technical debt); and semantics-related topics, such as semantic technologies and knowledge management (and knowledge identification); to topics touching upon cloud computing and IT-enabled capabilities for enterprises.
