Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2006 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Allgemein, Note: 1,0, Fachhochschule Düsseldorf, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In der Jugendsozialarbeit begegnen mir immer wieder die verschiedenen Konsummuster von Jugendlichen aus allen Gesellschaftsschichten. Bedürfnisse, Wünsche und Träume verändern sich mit den Jahren und können zu Handlungsmustern führen, die nicht unproblematisch sind. Die Wertigkeiten im Rahmen des Konsums, die Zahlungssysteme, Prioritäten bei der Wahl des Geldausgebens sowie die gewünschten Besitzstände, um in der Peergroup anerkannt zu sein, haben sich in den letzten Jahren stark verändert. Gab es bspw. in meiner Generation im Jugendalter das Bargeld als einzig verfügbares Zahlungsmittel, verfügen Jugendliche, Heranwachsende und junge Erwachsene heute in der Regel neben dem Bargeld über eine eingeschränkt nutzbare EC – Karte, eine Geldkarte auf der EC - Karte sowie über ein Handy, mit dem bezahlt, bzw. eingekauft werden kann. Das PayPal Zahlungssystem im Internet hat sich für die heranwachsende Generation etabliert, der virtuelle Umgang mit unsichtbarem Geld wird praktiziert. Schon dieses Beispiel zeigt auf, dass sich Jugendliche, Heranwachsende und junge Erwachsene heutiger Zeit andere Kompetenzen im Umgang mit Geld aneignen müssen, als es vor wenigen Jahren der Fall war. In den Medien wird der Konsum junger Menschen und ihre Ver- und Überschuldungssituation in regelmäßigen Abständen behandelt, oft mit negativem Unterton. Seit einigen Jahren beschäftigen sich namhafte Firmen der freien Wirtschaft, verschiedene Ministerien, Schuldnerberatungsstellen und Schulen mit diesem Thema. Die Erwartung scheint nach den vorliegenden Erfahrungen zu sein, dass sich der Konsum junger Menschen und im Besonderen ihre Verschuldung in den kommenden Jahren verschärfen wird, was verschiedene Studien der letzten Jahre eindrucksvoll belegen. Thema dieser Diplomarbeit ist es, den Start in das Erwachsenenleben unter dem Aspekt der Ver- und Überschuldung junger Menschen zu beschreiben, verschiedene Begriffe des Konsums und der Verschuldung sowie mögliche Ursachen zu klären und Initiativen aufzuzeigen, um Auswege zu ermöglichen.

Seit dem 1. 1. 1999 ist in Deutschland die Restschuldbefreiung von privaten Schulden gesetzlich möglich. Die Insolvenzordnung sieht hierfür ein pädagogisches Programm vor, mit dem sich die Überschuldeten als "redlich" (InsO §1) und somit der finanziellen Schuldbefreiung würdig erweisen. Was aber macht Redlichkeit im Kontext von Verschuldung aus? Die geforderten Haltungen zeigen eine neoliberale Prägung: Selbstaktivierung, Selbstauskunft, Eigenverantwortlichkeit. Anhand von narrationsanalytisch ausgewerteten Interviews mit Verschuldeten zeigt die Autorin, wie diese Anforderungen und damit die Schuld an den Schulden internalisiert werden. Mit der Untersuchung des Erzählens als diskursiv anschlussfähiger Akt der Selbstkonstitution leistet das Buch nicht zuletzt einen methodologischen Beitrag zur empirischen Subjektivierungsforschung.

This book presents a comprehensive summary of how well adult crime, antisocial behaviour and antisocial personality disorder can be prevented by interventions applied early in life. It reviews important childhood risk and protective factors for these adult outcomes and the alternative strategies of primary prevention (targeting the whole community) and secondary prevention (targeting persons identified as high risk) are discussed. The book also contains extensive information about prevention programmes in pregnancy and infancy, pre-school programmes, parent education and training programmes, and school programmes (including the prevention of bullying). There is special emphasis on preventing the intergenerational transmission of antisocial behaviour by focusing on family violence, and a special review of whether risk factors and prevention programmes have different effects for females compared to males. Cost-benefit analyses of early prevention programmes are also reviewed, leading to the conclusion that adult antisocial behaviour can be prevented both effectively and cost-efficiently.

The issue of resettling ex-prisoners and ex-offenders into the community has become an increasingly important one on both sides of the Atlantic. In the USA the former Attorney General Janet Reno identified the issue as 'one of the most pressing problems we face as a nation' in view of the massive prison population and the rapid increase in rates of incarceration, while in the UK it has become an increasingly important issue for similar reasons, and the subject of recent reports by HM Inspectorate of Prisons and HM Inspectorate of Probation, as well as from the Social Exclusion Unit of the Home Office. Yet this issue has not been well served by the criminological literature, and the new policies and programmes that have been set up to address the problem have not been well grounded in criminological thinking. This book seeks to address the important set of issues involved by bringing together the best of recent thinking and research into desistance from crime, drawing upon research in both the UK and the USA, and with a distinct focus on how this might impact upon the design and implementation of ex-offender reintegration policy.
