Mobile Media written by Jo Groebel and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-08-15 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The proliferation of mobile media in recent years is an international phenomenon, with billions of devices sold annually. Mobile communications are now moving beyond individualized voice to mass media content--text, voice, sound, images, and even video. This will create new types of content that allow media companies and users to interact in new ways. There is a strong interest from the media and telecom industries in what manner of applications and content can be distributed in that fashion, and at what cost. To answer these questions, the book provides 18 chapters from internationally renowned authors. They identify likely types of content such as news, entertainment, peer-to-peer, and location-specific information; evaluate the economics, business models, and payment mechanisms necessary to support these media; and cover policy dimensions such as copyright, competitiveness, and access rights for content providers. This volume takes the reader through the various elements that need to be considered in the development of third generation (3G) content, and explains pitfalls and barriers. The result is a volume of interest to business professionals, academics, and policy makers. The book is international in focus and a glossary of terms is provided. There are few publications available which give an overview of this rapidly changing field.

State Failure written by Martin Jänicke and has been published by Penn State Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1990 with Social Science categories.

In an age when areas such as health, education, and the environment are becoming more and more dependent on the state, the state demonstrates again and again that it is not able to cope. State Failure is about this failure to states in both the East and the West to make urgent economic and political decision. The problem, J&änicke argues, begins in the political sphere where politicians, who are elected to make decisions, become merely the legitimators of their government departments. The roots of the problem lie deeply embedded in the industrial structure, a structure that has passed its innovative phase and relies increasingly on public resources. Examining the failure of states in both Eastern and Western Europe, J&änicke concludes that we face a future of either stagnation or stark deindustrialization unless political means are found to solve the problems&—from environmental destruction to unemployment&— that now face us all.

Dealing With Consumer Uncertainty written by Karin Bergmann and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-03-14 with Business & Economics categories.

My studies on the "uncertain consumer" began with a research project c- ducted by the Dr. Rainer Wild-Stiftung - Foundation for healthy nutrition - on the negative image of processed food. Ever since then I have been asked whether or not growing consumer uncertainty is linked to information po- cies of the food sector and if so, how. Intensive three-year research showed that industrial methods of food production are predestined to result in wayward fears and worry over its healthiness. This is due to the fact that during the process of industrialisation, we gradually passed responsibility for the quality of food into the producers' hands. This, in turn, has resulted in information gaps that we, as the addressees of diverse, often overwhelming and contrad- tory information supplied by varying sources, feel today. We exchanged the daily search for food for the daily search for information long ago. Con- quently, a practical concept for public relations stands at the end of my - search into the uncertain consumer. It accounts for uncertainty regarding processed food as a point of reference for public relations targeted towards various groups. Public relations oriented towards the future calls for the sharing of expert information with all interested consumers. It is the goal of businesses to actively build up trust among the consumers in order to be prepared for new causes for uncertainty appearing periodically. To this day the issue of consumer uncertainty has not lost its topicality.

A History Shared And Divided written by Frank Bösch and has been published by Berghahn Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-09-14 with History categories.

By and large, the histories of East and West Germany have been studied in relative isolation. And yet, for all their differences, the historical trajectories of both nations were interrelated in complex ways, shaped by economic crises, social and cultural changes, protest movements, and other phenomena so diffuse that they could hardly be contained by the Iron Curtain. Accordingly, A History Shared and Divided offers a collective portrait of the two Germanies that is both broad and deep. It brings together comprehensive thematic surveys by specialists in social history, media, education, the environment, and similar topics to assemble a monumental account of both nations from the crises of the 1970s to—and beyond—the reunification era.
