Web Data Management written by Serge Abiteboul and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-11-28 with Computers categories.

The Internet and World Wide Web have revolutionized access to information. Users now store information across multiple platforms from personal computers to smartphones and websites. As a consequence, data management concepts, methods and techniques are increasingly focused on distribution concerns. Now that information largely resides in the network, so do the tools that process this information. This book explains the foundations of XML with a focus on data distribution. It covers the many facets of distributed data management on the Web, such as description logics, that are already emerging in today's data integration applications and herald tomorrow's semantic Web. It also introduces the machinery used to manipulate the unprecedented amount of data collected on the Web. Several 'Putting into Practice' chapters describe detailed practical applications of the technologies and techniques. The book will serve as an introduction to the new, global, information systems for Web professionals and master's level courses.

This IBM® Redbooks® publication discusses in detail the facilities of DB2® for z/OS®, which allow complete monitoring of a DB2 environment. It focuses on the use of the DB2 instrumentation facility component (IFC) to provide monitoring of DB2 data and events and includes suggestions for related tuning. We discuss the collection of statistics for the verification of performance of the various components of the DB2 system and accounting for tracking the behavior of the applications. We have intentionally omitted considerations for query optimization; they are worth a separate document. Use this book to activate the right traces to help you monitor the performance of your DB2 system and to tune the various aspects of subsystem and application performance.

Summary Making Sense of NoSQL clearly and concisely explains the concepts, features, benefits, potential, and limitations of NoSQL technologies. Using examples and use cases, illustrations, and plain, jargon-free writing, this guide shows how you can effectively assemble a NoSQL solution to replace or augment the traditional RDBMS you have now. About this Book If you want to understand and perhaps start using the new data storage and analysis technologies that go beyond the SQL database model, this book is for you. Written in plain language suitable for technical managers and developers, and using many examples, use cases, and illustrations, this book explains the concepts, features, benefits, potential, and limitations of NoSQL. Making Sense of NoSQL starts by comparing familiar database concepts to the new NoSQL patterns that augment or replace them. Then, you'll explore case studies on big data, search, reliability, and business agility that apply these new patterns to today's business problems. You'll see how NoSQL systems can leverage the resources of modern cloud computing and multiple-CPU data centers. The final chaptersshow you how to choose the right NoSQL technologies for your own needs. Managers and developers will welcome this lucid overview of the potential and capabilities of NoSQL technologies. Purchase of the print book includes a free eBook in PDF, Kindle, and ePub formats from Manning Publications. Computationally Efficient Model Predictive Control Algorithms written by Maciej Ławryńczuk and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-08-27 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book thoroughly discusses computationally efficient (suboptimal) Model Predictive Control (MPC) techniques based on neural models. The subjects treated include: · A few types of suboptimal MPC algorithms in which a linear approximation of the model or of the predicted trajectory is successively calculated on-line and used for prediction. · Implementation details of the MPC algorithms for feed forward perceptron neural models, neural Hammerstein models, neural Wiener models and state-space neural models. · The MPC algorithms based on neural multi-models (inspired by the idea of predictive control). · The MPC algorithms with neural approximation with no on-line linearization. · The MPC algorithms with guaranteed stability and robustness. · Cooperation between the MPC algorithms and set-point optimization. Thanks to linearization (or neural approximation), the presented suboptimal algorithms do not require demanding on-line nonlinear optimization. The presented simulation results demonstrate high accuracy and computational efficiency of the algorithms. For a few representative nonlinear benchmark processes, such as chemical reactors and a distillation column, for which the classical MPC algorithms based on linear models do not work properly, the trajectories obtained in the suboptimal MPC algorithms are very similar to those given by the ``ideal'' MPC algorithm with on-line nonlinear optimization repeated at each sampling instant. At the same time, the suboptimal MPC algorithms are significantly less computationally demanding.
