This book gives a unified approach to the theory concerning a new matrix version of classical harmonic analysis. Most results in the book have their analogues as classical or newer results in harmonic analysis. It can be used as a source for further research in many areas related to infinite matrices. In particular, it could be a perfect starting point for students looking for new directions to write their PhD thesis as well as for experienced researchers in analysis looking for new problems with great potential to be very useful both in pure and applied mathematics where classical analysis has been used, for example, in signal processing and image analysis.

This book is dedicated to Victor Emmanuilovich Katsnelson on the occasion of his 75th birthday and celebrates his broad mathematical interests and contributions.Victor Emmanuilovich’s mathematical career has been based mainly at the Kharkov University and the Weizmann Institute. However, it also included a one-year guest professorship at Leipzig University in 1991, which led to him establishing close research contacts with the Schur analysis group in Leipzig, a collaboration that still continues today. Reflecting these three periods in Victor Emmanuilovich's career, present and former colleagues have contributed to this book with research inspired by him and presentations on their joint work. Contributions include papers in function theory (Favorov-Golinskii, Friedland-Goldman-Yomdin, Kheifets-Yuditskii) , Schur analysis, moment problems and related topics (Boiko-Dubovoy, Dyukarev, Fritzsche-Kirstein-Mädler), extension of linear operators and linear relations (Dijksma-Langer, Hassi-de Snoo, Hassi -Wietsma) and non-commutative analysis (Ball-Bolotnikov, Cho-Jorgensen).

This book defines and examines the counterpart of Schur functions and Schur analysis in the slice hyperholomorphic setting. It is organized into three parts: the first introduces readers to classical Schur analysis, while the second offers background material on quaternions, slice hyperholomorphic functions, and quaternionic functional analysis. The third part represents the core of the book and explores quaternionic Schur analysis and its various applications. The book includes previously unpublished results and provides the basis for new directions of research.

This volume is devoted to Joseph A. (Joe) Ball’s contributions to operator theory and its applications and in celebration of his seventieth birthday. Joe Ball’s career spans over four and a half decades, starting with his work on model theory and related topics for non-contractions and operators on multiply connected domains. Later on, more applied operator theory themes appeared in his work, involving factorization and interpolation for operator-valued functions, with extensive applications in system and control theory. He has worked on nonlinear control, time-varying systems and, more recently, on multidimensional systems and noncommutative H∞-theory on the unit ball and polydisk, and more general domains, and these are only the main themes in his vast oeuvre. Fourteen research papers constitute the core of this volume, written by mathematicians who have collaborated with Joe or have been influenced by his vast mathematical work. A curriculum vitae, a publicationslist and a list of Joe Ball’s PhD students are included in this volume, as well as personal reminiscences by colleagues and friends. Contributions by Yu. M. Arlinskii, S. Hassi, M. Augat, J. W. Helton, I. Klep, S. McCullough, S. Balasubramanian, U. Wijesooriya, N. Cohen, Q. Fang, S. Gorai, J. Sarkar, G. J. Groenewald, S. ter Horst, J. Jaftha, A. C. M. Quaternionic Closed Operators Fractional Powers And Fractional Diffusion Processes written by Fabrizio Colombo and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-07-10 with Mathematics categories.

This book presents a new theory for evolution operators and a new method for defining fractional powers of vector operators. This new approach allows to define new classes of fractional diffusion and evolution problems. These innovative methods and techniques, based on the concept of S-spectrum, can inspire researchers from various areas of operator theory and PDEs to explore new research directions in their fields. This monograph is the natural continuation of the book: Spectral Theory on the S-Spectrum for Quaternionic Operators by Fabrizio Colombo, Jonathan Gantner, and David P. Kimsey (Operator Theory: Advances and Applications, Vol. 270).

These notes present a theorem on infinite matrices with values in a topological group due to P Antosik and J Mikusinski. Using the matrix theorem and classical gliding hump techniques, a number of applications to various topics in functional analysis, measure theory and sequence spaces are given. There are a number of generalizations of the classical Uniform Boundedness Principle given; in particular, using stronger notions of sequential convergence and boundedness due to Antosik and Mikusinski, versions of the Uniform Boundedness Principle and the Banach-Steinhaus Theorem are given which, in contrast to the usual versions, require no completeness or barrelledness assumptions on the domain space. Versions of Nikodym Boundedness and Convergence Theorems of measure theory, the Orlicz-Pettis Theorem on subseries convergence, generalizations of the Schur Lemma on the equivalence of weak and norm convergence in l1 and the Mazur-Orlicz Theorem on the continuity of separately continuous bilinear mappings are also given. Finally, the matrix theorems are also employed to treat a number of topics in sequence spaces.
