Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2001 im Fachbereich Didaktik für das Fach Deutsch - Deutsch als Fremdsprache, DaF, Note: Note 1-, Universität Bayreuth, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: ́Textlinguistik ́, so wird die Teildisziplin genannt, die sich mit den Struktureigenschaften des Textes befasst. Dieser Begriff taucht erst seit etwa Mitte der 60er Jahre auf, was bedeutet, dass die Beschäftigung mit Texten relativ neu ist. Bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt war der Text als solcher im Rahmen der Sprachwissenschaft eher eine Randerscheinung. Mit dem Text als sprachlicher Erscheinungsform im Mittelpunkt setzt sich die Textlinguistik deutlich ab von der systematischen Linguistik, in deren Zentrum der Satz steht. Die Textlinguisten rechtfertigen ihre Schwerpunkt - Setzung mit der Beobachtung, dass sich sowohl die semantischen als auch syntaktischen Funktionen bestimmter grammatischer Phänomene (wie z.B. der Pronomina und der deiktischen Ausdrücke) erst genau bestimmen lassen, wenn man sie satzübergreifend, also auf der Textebene, betrachtet. Einerseits stellt die Textlinguistik eine sprachwissenschaftliche Disziplin dar, die sich mit der Abgrenzung und Klassifizierung von Texten beschäftigt, fragt also danach, wie sich linguistisch die Größe „Text“ genau bestimmen lässt und welche verschiedenen Typen von Texten es gibt. Anderseits wird durch sie der Bau und die Struktur von Texten untersucht, d.h. sie geht der Frage nach, welche sprachlichen Bauelemente Texte konstituieren, wie die einzelnen Elemente (Sätze, Textabschnitte) systematisch zusammenhängen und wie sie zu Texten verbunden werden. Textlinguistik ist heute mehr als nur bestimmte sprachwissenschaftliche Teildisziplin. Wann immer nach dem Sprachgebrauch, seiner Bedeutung für menschliches Handeln und soziales Miteinander gefragt wird, geht es um Texte. Texten kommt in allen Gesellschaften und Gruppen eine Schlüsselfunktion zu; sie sind ein zentraler Bestandteil dessen, was man „Kultur“ bzw. „Ideologie“ nennt. Soziale Ordnung und historischer Wandel in Politik und Wirtschaft, Recht und Religion, Wissenschaft und Technik, Literatur und Alltag beruhen wesentlich auf Texten. Je flexibler soziale Strukturen werden, um so mehr hängt von den Fähigkeiten der Kommunizierenden ab, stilistische Wahlen zu treffen und rhetorisch zu überzeugen. Je komplexer und globaler die Kommunikation, umso gefragter sind Textexperten als Wissens- und Kulturvermittler. Die vorliegenden Ausführungen befassen sich hauptsächlich mit den Grundbegriffen: Text, Texttyp und Textsorte. Die Hauptfrage könnte lauten: haben diese Elemente erkennbare Auswirkung auf das Lesen?

The goal of this corpus based research monograph is twofold. On the one hand, the volume delivers a practice relevant theoretical framework which will enable linguists and internationally operating businesses to evaluate product and service comments of foreign customers written in their mother tongue and intended for their fellow nationals. The theoretical framework should be applicable to any language combination. On the other hand, a large-scale empiric study has been carried out building on our theoretical premises with the aim of determining the text linguistic structure and language use in Spanish, Dutch, French and German customer comments on hotel accommodation in two relevant applications of the Social Web (social network services like Facebook and comments on the webs of hotel reservations agencies). Our findings will enable Spanish and German companies to interpret the linguistic behavior of their German/Spanish clients sharing their accommodation experiences on the Social Web.

It is generally agreed that knowledge plays an important role in translation and interpreting and that it should therefore be of central concern to translation and interpreting studies. However, there is no general agreement about what is actually meant by the term 'knowledge' in this context, nor about in exactly what ways it is relevant. Also, present-day translation and interpreting studies offer only a limited amount of research specifically dedicated to knowledge systematization and other knowledge-related issues. This book is one of the first to systematically and exclusively address the question of knowledge in translation and interpreting. It is a collection of papers by leading scholars both from the field of translation and interpreting and from adjacent fields where knowledge also plays an important role, such as linguistics and computer science. The experts present a wide variety of conceptions of knowledge and a number of different approaches to the study of knowledge in translation and interpreting: some of them draw on concepts such as scenes and frames, mental spaces and semantic networks, some discuss knowledge systems from an ontological point of view, and some present more general concepts of knowledge in translation and interpreting. Along the same lines, some of the contributors deal mainly with theoretical and conceptual aspects, others focus on methodological issues, and again others report on empirical studies. What brings them together, however, is their common focus on the interface between knowledge and translation/interpreting, and their main achievement is that, by joining forces, they manage to present to their readers a state-of-the-art report which offers both a clearer delimitation of the concept of knowledge and a better understanding of its role in translation and interpreting.
