Innovations constitute one essential success factor for the development, progress, and success of companies. Thus, striving for the creation of innovation can be beneficial. One way to create innovations is to increase the innovation capability of companies in order to enhance the knowledge base in that company. In plenty of innovation-related research, it turned out that customers can be one important source of new knowledge. Thus, they can also be a driver for increasing innovation capability and hence ultimately help to foster the creation of innovations. Due to potential effects of customers on innovation capability, companies could strive to generally integrate customers into their innovation activities. However, companies should consider differences of customers in order to identify the most promising customers for their innovation activities. Therefore, the idea of competences of an individual is applied, since competences integrate abilities, skills, and knowledge and are thus a wide construct respecting different facets of a customer. With the concept of customer competences, companies might be enabled to identify the most beneficial customers for their innovation activities in order to increase their innovation capability. Accordingly, in order to explain interrelations between particular customer competences and the innovation capability of a company, this research delivers a well-founded basis by investigating the general existence of interrelations between customer competences and the innovation capability of companies. Dynamic Capabilities written by Philip Cordes-Berszinn and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-11-29 with Business & Economics categories.

The concept of dynamic capabilities, especially in terms of organizational knowledge processes, has become the predominant paradigm for the explanation of competitive advantages. However, major unsolved - or at least insufficiently solved - problems are first their measurement and second their management by concrete managerial options, such as design options of organizational structures. Dynamic Capabilities provides an integrated descriptive model of both dynamic capabilities and organizational structures that allows characterizing, classifying and a comparison. It develops a logic system of a multitude of combinatorial possibilities between their variables, and it develops a complex and integrated system of associated empirically based and qualitatively deduced hypotheses. Therewith, it serves as a terminological and analytical foundation for the identification of knowledge-based dynamic capabilities in organizations and for a targeted design of organizational structures that enable and foster dynamic capability processes such as knowledge transfer and knowledge absorption.

The author introduces the dynamism of industries as the dominant force in the firm’s environment that influences the organization on all levels. Due to strategic, organizational, and managerial similarities of businesses competing in similar dynamic environments, synergistic benefits and superior economic performance can be realized through the combination of dynamic-related businesses in the corporate portfolio. This study provides a quantitative, multidimensional operationalization of industry dynamism and an in-depth assessment of the dynamism of a wide range of industries. At the core of the study lies the investigation of the performance impact of dynamic-related diversification strategies. The results provide new insights into successful portfolio construction strategies in the face of today’s dynamic environments.

Integrative Production Technology For High Wage Countries written by Christian Brecher and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-12-17 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Industrial production in high-wage countries like Germany is still at risk. Yet, there are many counter-examples in which producing companies dominate their competitors by not only compensating for their specific disadvantages in terms of factor costs (e.g. wages, energy, duties and taxes) but rather by minimising waste using synchronising integrativity as well as by obtaining superior adaptivity on alternating conditions. In order to respond to the issue of economic sustainability of industrial production in high-wage countries, the leading production engineering and material research scientists of RWTH Aachen University together with renowned companies have established the Cluster of Excellence “Integrative Production Technology for High-Wage Countries”. This compendium comprises the cluster’s scientific results as well as a selection of business and technology cases, in which these results have been successfully implemented into industrial practice in close cooperation with more than 30 companies of the industrial production sector.
