The area of detection and estimation in a distributed wireless sensor network (WSN) has several applications, including military surveillance, sustainability, health monitoring, and Internet of Things (IoT). Compared with a wired centralized sensor network, a distributed WSN has many advantages including scalability and robustness to sensor node failures. In this book, we address the problem of estimating the structure of distributed WSNs. First, we provide a literature review in: (a) graph theory; (b) network area estimation; and (c) existing consensus algorithms, including average consensus and max consensus. Second, a distributed algorithm for counting the total number of nodes in a wireless sensor network with noisy communication channels is introduced. Then, a distributed network degree distribution estimation (DNDD) algorithm is described. The DNDD algorithm is based on average consensus and in-network empirical mass function estimation. Finally, a fully distributed algorithm for estimating the center and the coverage region of a wireless sensor network is described. The algorithms introduced are appropriate for most connected distributed networks. The performance of the algorithms is analyzed theoretically, and simulations are performed and presented to validate the theoretical results. In this book, we also describe how the introduced algorithms can be used to learn global data information and the global data region.

Studies To Combat Covid 19 Using Science And Engineering written by Dana Barry and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-06-27 with Science categories.
This unique book provides excellent examples of ongoing, leading-edge research related to viruses, especially COVID-19. It is written from the viewpoint of various scientific fields including materials science. It introduces and describes viruses (submicroscopic infectious agents that replicate inside the living cells of an organism), various infections caused by viruses (human to human, human to other organisms to humans, humans to materials to humans, etc.), not only from the viewpoint of medical research but also from other scientific disciplines. A major focus of the book is the COVID-19 virus. Highlighted topics include the evolution of COVID-19, transmission of virus particles through the air, virus spread through various materials, detection of the virus by testing wastewater, the development and testing of vaccines and therapeutic drugs, and the preparation for future viruses and pandemics. This includes reform in funeral services to properly and safely accommodate very large numbers of bodies in a pandemic, like those seen in New York City when it was the epicenter for the virus in the United States. This book serves as an excellent and very informative guide (practical book) for engineers and researchers of various backgrounds and as a great academic textbook.

Network Optimization Methods In Passivity Based Cooperative Control written by Miel Sharf and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-05-24 with Technology & Engineering categories.
This book establishes an important mathematical connection between cooperative control problems and network optimization problems. It shows that many cooperative control problems can in fact be understood, under certain passivity assumptions, using a pair of static network optimization problems. Merging notions from passivity theory and network optimization, it describes a novel network optimization approach that can be applied to the synthesis of controllers for diffusively-coupled networks of passive (or passivity-short) dynamical systems. It also introduces a data-based, model-free approach for the synthesis of network controllers for multi-agent systems with passivity-short agents. Further, the book describes a method for monitoring link faults in multi-agent systems using passivity theory and graph connectivity. It reports on some practical case studies describing the effectivity of the developed approaches in vehicle networks. All in all, this book offers an extensive source of information and novel methods in the emerging field of multi-agent cooperative control, paving the way to future developments of autonomous systems for various application domains

Semi Autonomous Networks written by Airlie Chapman and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-02-10 with Science categories.
This thesis analyzes and explores the design of controlled networked dynamic systems - dubbed semi-autonomous networks. The work approaches the problem of effective control of semi-autonomous networks from three fronts: protocols which are run on individual agents in the network; the network interconnection topology design; and efficient modeling of these often large-scale networks. The author extended the popular consensus protocol to advection and nonlinear consensus. The network redesign algorithms are supported by a game-theoretic and an online learning regret analysis.

This book contains three well-written research tutorials that inform the graduate reader about the forefront of current research in multi-agent optimization. These tutorials cover topics that have not yet found their way in standard books and offer the reader the unique opportunity to be guided by major researchers in the respective fields. Multi-agent optimization, lying at the intersection of classical optimization, game theory, and variational inequality theory, is at the forefront of modern optimization and has recently undergone a dramatic development. It seems timely to provide an overview that describes in detail ongoing research and important trends. This book concentrates on Distributed Optimization over Networks; Differential Variational Inequalities; and Advanced Decomposition Algorithms for Multi-agent Systems. This book will appeal to both mathematicians and mathematically oriented engineers and will be the source of inspiration for PhD students and researchers.

The second part of the book is dedicated to the use of time-delay models for the analysis and design of Networked Control Systems. The third part of the book focuses on the analysis and design of systems with asynchronous sampling intervals which occur in Networked Control Systems. The last part of the book exposes several contributions dealing with the design of cooperative control and observation laws for networked control systems. The target audience primarily comprises researchers and experts in the field of control theory, but the book may also be beneficial for graduate students.

Stochastic Control and Filtering over Constrained Communication Networks presents up-to-date research developments and novel methodologies on stochastic control and filtering for networked systems under constrained communication networks. It provides a framework of optimal controller/filter design, resilient filter design, stability and performance analysis for the systems considered, subject to various kinds of communication constraints, including signal-to-noise constraints, bandwidth constraints, and packet drops. Several techniques are employed to develop the controllers and filters desired, including: recursive Riccati equations; matrix decomposition; optimal estimation theory; and mathematical optimization methods. Readers will benefit from the book’s new concepts, models and methodologies that have practical significance in control engineering and signal processing. Stochastic Control and Filtering over Constrained Communication Networks is a practical research reference for engineers dealing with networked control and filtering problems. It is also of interest to academics and students working in control and communication networks.
