This collection of reflections and thoughts is especially dedicated to those who suffer spiritually, humanly, or socially, so they can react and rise from the ashes like the mythological Phoenix, as they move towards a new and happier existence, more experienced. I hope to help you become inwardly strong to the point that you are prepared to endure even the unbearable. If or when pain knocks on your door, may you be able to sublimate it in benefit of your Spirit and the Spirit of everyone else, because this is the fraternal, unselfish action of those who want to see a Solidary, Altruistic, and Ecumenical Society on Earth. The victory of human beings begins within themselves. The progress of humanity is a consequence of this: Social, Solidary, and Sustainable Development, Education, Culture, Art, and Sports—all this with the indispensable Ecumenical Spirituality—so there may be Socio-environmental Awareness, Food, Security, Health, and Work for all its components, as well as awakening in them the Planetary Citizenship. If we act like this, we shall be able to multiply contentment, security, and Peace in the Soul and in the pockets of citizens of any country that loves its people.

Life, as many of us experience it, is full of suffering. Suffering arises from desire. We manage suffering only to the extent we manage desire: overcome desire and overcome suffering as well. Buddhism offers a time-tested, accessible method for overcoming suffering. Though some are interested in Buddhism as a philosophy or a religion, I am interested in it as a sufferer. As such, my purpose in writing is not to convert you to a new religion or to put down your old one. It is to help us deal with pain and live more fully. In that spirit, I invite you to share this ancient method that still seems fresh and new. John Cunyus Dallas, Texas "You are applying Buddha¿s teachings to your own way. That can help those who are still wrestling with words and phrases. I like the way you adapted the dharma to modern day thought, and to your own personal experiences. A very good read and it makes for a refreshing perspective on a time-honored tradition." ¿ Rev. Yao Feng Shakya, Buddhist Minister, Eugene, Oregon The Middle Way [the Buddhist method] provides a balance, incorporating asceticism and mysticism into a healthy approach to solving the problem of suffering, without a requirement that the Christian adopt beliefs or practices that are inconsistent with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a life led according to the Biblical principles. ¿ Myles Hall, Christian Layperson, Azle, Texas

Have you been trying to overcome a situation that has caused much suffering in your life?Growing as a child and being shaped in a world filled with drugs, crime, violence and poverty, Daniel Lyndon has been dealt much cause to suffer over. Watching his parents and only role modals take drugs, it was no surprise that by the time Lyndon was 14, he had already gained a well established drug problem himself. But druge were not the problem; - unresolved trauma was! At the lowest point is his teenage years, Lyndon was imprisoned for a total of 4 years which only served to make him suffer more. During that time, the depressed and psychologically traumatised young man met a buddhist monk who helped him take control of his self-defeating subconcious mind and grow beyond every body's expectations. Gaining a new skill in hairdressing and with continued study and practice into mindfulness and meditation, Lyndon later went on to open 5 salons and is now coaching people to do the same. With the launch of his first book "find meaning in the suffering" he hopes to give a different perspective on all self help guru's philosophies, and creates a different understanding into how you can turn past traumatic experiences into your greatest sources of strengths and build a legacy of your own. With a horrible twist of fate in the never eneding cycles of the "up's and down's" life threw up some more experiences that could have broken him once more. 15 years of staying on the "straight", he had to then overcome the emotional trauma of not seeing his child, which ended with Daniel dislocating his shoulders, loosing his business and home.If you've had to face similar circumstance and are struggling with picking yourself up off the floor then this book is a must read. We've been sold the dream for decades now of that illusive, eternal happiness. But life is not like that. Life can be cruel. The Origin And The Overcoming Of Evil And Suffering In The World Religions written by P. Koslowski and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-03-14 with Religion categories.

All religions face the challenge of explaining, in view of God's goodness, the existence of evil and suffering in the world. They must develop theories of the origin and the overcoming of evil and suffering. The explanations in Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism of evil and suffering and their origin, as well as these world religions' theories of how to overcome evil and suffering, differ from one another, but are also similar in many respects. The human person is always considered to be the origin of evil, and also to be the focus of aspirations to be able to overcome it. The conviction that evil and suffering are not original and can be overcome is characteristic of and common to the religions. The explanations of the origin of evil are closely related to the explanations of the continuation and propagation of evil in human persons, in nature, and in our technology and culture that have been developed in the religions - in Christianity, for example, as the doctrine of original sin. Finally, the world religions are concerned with how to cope with suffering and offer guidance for overcoming evil and suffering. Leading scholars of five world religions, Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, Judaism, and Hinduism, have created with this volume a first-hand source of information, which enables the reader to gain a better understanding of these religions' central teachings about the origin and the overcoming of evil and suffering.

In our current times of global crises and spiking collective anxiety, Tara Brach’s transformative practice of Radical Acceptance offers a pathway to inner freedom and a more compassionate world. This classic work now features an insightful new introduction, an exclusive bonus chapter, and additional guided meditations. “Radical Acceptance offers us an invitation to embrace ourselves with all our pain, fear, and anxieties, and to step lightly yet firmly on the path of understanding and compassion.”—Thich Nhat Hanh “Believing that something is wrong with us is a deep and tenacious suffering,” says Tara Brach at the start of this illuminating book. This suffering emerges in crippling self-judgments and conflicts in our relationships, in addictions and perfectionism, in loneliness and overwork—all the forces that keep our lives constricted and unfulfilled. Radical Acceptance offers a path to freedom, including the day-to-day practical guidance developed over Dr. Brach’s forty years of work with therapy clients and Buddhist students. Writing with great warmth and clarity, Tara Brach brings her teachings alive through personal stories and case histories, fresh interpretations of Buddhist tales, and guided meditations. Step by step, she shows us how we can stop being at war with ourselves and begin to live fully every precious moment of our lives.

Finding Freedom In Illness written by Peter Fernando and has been published by Shambhala Publications this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-03-15 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.

Buddhist wisdom for finding freedom and insight through spiritual practice in the midst of illness and pain. "Let your illness be your spiritual teacher!" Make a statement like that to someone who's struggled for years with, say, rheumatoid arthritis, and be prepared for an eyeroll (at best). To Peter Fernando's credit, he makes that statement, and no such impulse arises. We believe him because he's been there himself and because he backs up the statements with his own real experiences and with real wisdom from the Buddhist teachings. Peter starts by defusing the pernicious belief that anyone is somehow responsible for their illness: You're not "wrong" for being sick. Then, having gotten past self-blame, one can begin to learn self-kindness. From there, one moves to mindfulness practices and cultivating body awareness--even if body awareness is distasteful when the body isn't behaving the way you like. Further topics include getting intimate with dark emotions (fear, despair, the scary future, frustration, grief, etc.), learning equanimity (rejoicing in the good fortune of those who don't share your suffering), cultivating healthy relationships in the midst of everything, and practical advice for living with pain. Each chapter comes with one or more practices or guided meditations for putting the teachings into practice.
