Master's Thesis from the year 2012 in the subject Chemistry - Bio-chemistry, course: Master Degree, language: English, abstract: Modern air pollution control technologies have emerged over the past 40 years to mitigate emission problems in industrial facilities and thereby comply with environmental regulations. A variety of technologies have been developed to meet the needs of both the industries and the regulatory agencies keeping in view the techno economics. Some air pollutants like H2S, NH3 and VOC's are emitted in the industry causes odour and this not only causes occupational health but also damages public image of the company. Engineered biofiltration is a sustainable technology for VOC and odor control. Bio-filtration is a method of pollution control in which pollutants are biologically degraded using microorganisms. Generally, the energy demands for biofiltration are one-fourth to one-tenth that of physico-chemical destructive technologies. Biofilters are being developed and effectively used for a wide variety of industries, including wood products, paint manufacturing, petroleum remediation etc. Biofilters are cost-effective and straightforward options for pollutants capable of biodegrading reasonably easily. Triethylamine(TEA) is a Volatile organic compound widely used as a catalyst for polymerization reactions and a solvent and corrosion inhibitor in industry and it is also used as an intermediate in the production of various chemicals, including pesticides. It is necessary to remove TEA from water and gas in the environment. TEA gas-phase bio treatment has emerged as an effective and inexpensive alternative to conventional physicochemical treatment systems. The technology is still under development in terms of economics, equipment, process kinetics, and operational skills and different layouts and flow trains are being proposed including biofiltration, biotrickling filter, and bioscrubber. In the present work, studies are being carried out on biofilte

Doctoral Thesis / Dissertation from the year 2014 in the subject Chemistry - Analytical Chemistry, grade: 3, Saurashtra University (Department of Chemistry), course: Ph.D., language: English, abstract: The objective of this work was to develop a simple, cost effective, rugged and a high throughput method for simultaneous estimation of Azilsartan and Chlorthalidone in human plasma. Solid phase extraction technique is introduced here for first time and its advantages are: (I) Short processing time, (II) Significant reduction in the labour and (III) This technique minimizes chances of errors, saves considerable time and simplifies the sample preparation methodology. The run time per sample analysis of 15.0 min suggests the high throughput of the proposed method. From the results of all the validation parameters, the method proposed here can be useful for therapeutic drug monitoring both for analysis of routine samples of single dose or multiple dose pharmacokinetics and also for the clinical trial samples.

Hplc Of Peptides And Proteins written by Marie-Isabel Aguilar and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008-02-03 with Science categories.

The introduction of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to the analysis of peptides and proteins some 25 years ago revolutionized the biological sciences by enabling the rapid and sensitive analysis of peptide and protein structure through the exquisite speed, sensitivity, and resolution that can be easily obtained. Today, HPLC in its various modes has become the pivotal technique in the characterization of peptides and proteins and currently plays a critical role in both our understanding of biological processes and in the development of peptide- and protein-based pharmaceuticals. The number of applications of HPLC in peptide and protein purification continues to expand at an extremely rapid rate. Solid-phase peptide synthesis and recombinant DNA techniques have allowed the production of large quantities of peptides and proteins that need to be highly purified. HPLC techniques are also used extensively in the isolation and characterization of novel proteins that will become increasingly important in the postgenomic age. The design of multidimensional purification schemes to achieve high levels of product purity further demonstrates the power of HPLC techniques not only in the characterization of cellular events, but also in the production of pepti- and protein-based therapeutics. HPLC continues to be at the heart of the analytical techniques with which scientists in both academia and in industry must arm themselves to be able to fully characterize the identity, purity, and potency of peptides and proteins.

Affinity Chromatography written by Pascal Bailon and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008-02-04 with Science categories.

Affinity chromatography, with its exquisite specificity, is based upon molecular recognition. It is a powerful tool for the purification of biomolecules. In recent years, numerous new applications and modified techniques have been derived from gro- specific interactions and biological recognition principles. An up-to-date review of the past, current, and future applications of affinity chromatography has been presented in the introductory chapter by Meir Wilchek and Irwin Chaiken. Though many of these new applications and techniques are well documented in the literature, it is often difficult to find methods that are written with the intent of helping new practitioners of affinity chromatography. This volume on Affinity Chromatography: Methods and Protocols is intended for the novice, as well as for - perts in the field. The protocols are written by experts who have developed and/or successfully employed these methods in their laboratories. Each chapter describes a specific technique, and since the book is intended to help the beginner, each technique is described simply and clearly, making sure that all relevant steps are included, assuming no previous knowledge. Each chapter contains an introduction describing the principles involved, followed by a Materials and Methods section, which lays the groundwork for the reader to conduct experiments step-by-step, in an orderly fashion. The following Notes section, which describes many of the problems that can occur, makes suggestions for overcoming them, and provides alternate procedures. These are precisely the sort of important, practical details that never seem to appear in the published literature.
