Surveillance Architecture And Control written by Susan Flynn and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-01-21 with Social Science categories.

This edited collection examines the culture of surveillance as it is expressed in the built environment. Expanding on discussions from previous collections; Spaces of Surveillance: States and Selves (2017) and Surveillance, Race, Culture (2018), this book seeks to explore instances of surveillance within and around specific architectural entities, both historical and fictitious, buildings with specific social purposes and those existing in fiction, film, photography, performance and art. Providing new readings of, and expanding on Foucault’s work on the panopticon, these essays examine the role of surveillance via disparate fields of enquiry, such as the humanities, social sciences, technological studies, design and environmental disciplines. Surveillance, Architecture and Control seeks to engender new debates about the nature of the surveilled environment through detailed analyses of architectural structures and spaces; examining how cultural, geographical and built space buttress and produce power relations. The various essays address the ongoing fascination with contemporary notions of surveillance and control.

This is an open access book. 2023 3rd International Conference on Enterprise Management and Economic Development (ICEMED2023) will be held in Xi'an, China on May 12–14, 2023. Enterprise management is the general term for a series of functions such as organizing, planning, commanding, supervising and regulating the production and operation activities of enterprises. Relative to economic growth, economic development is the core concept of development economics. Economic development refers to the high-quality development of the economy, including quality and quantity, rather than merely the growth of quantity. Enterprise management covers economics, management, business management, financial management, human resource management and other aspects, and is a comprehensive interdisciplinary science that spans natural science, engineering science, technical science and humanities and social science. Enterprise management comes into being with the development of modern socialized mass production. The use of modern management means and methods to manage enterprises, ensure the survival and development of enterprises, and play a positive role in promoting economic development. ICEMED2023 will bring together experts and scholars from relevant fields to discuss the relationship between enterprise management and economic development. Reasonable enterprise management is an important way to promote the economic development of enterprises. Scientific and reasonable use of industrial and commercial enterprise management knowledge can reasonably carry out effective macro-control on the enterprise economy and ensure the stable progress and development of the enterprise economy.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science which uses data to create models. These models learn from data and are used to make predictions. AI tools are being developed to deal with the complexity and variety of data in the food industry. This edited volume highlights the ways in which AI can be applied to optimization and automation in quality control, processing and packaging of food products. It covers a wide range of food products including oils and fats, milk, fish and fishery products. Filling the gap between literature covering conventional food processing and packaging and current research on AI linked to these areas, initial chapters highlight AI applications including the internet of things (IoT) and big data applications in the food industry. Then coverage details the intelligent integration of many technologies for different applications in the food industry for example non-destructive food quality assessment using digital images assisted by chemometrics, simulations to detect the existence of foreign objects in milk packaging using ultrasonic tomography and AI assisted 3D food printing. New advanced sensing technologies, including electronic noses and tongues, are discussed in detail emphasizing their role in ensuring food product quality and safety.

Research on biomechanics, sensing, and bio-inspired control is vital for progressing rehabilitation and wearable robotics. Biomechanical simulation can provide the theoretical basis for device design and optimize the design and control scheme. The fusion of bio-signals, neural signals, and physical signals is helpful for accurate perception and recognition of human motion intention. Bio-inspired control is an important direction of individualized and efficient assistance of rehabilitation and wearable robotics. In recent years, with the development of biomedical and information technology, the equipment used for information acquisition has been updated from cumbersome and immobile devices to small and portable ones, making integration with rehabilitation and wearable robotics easier. Moreover, the performance of rehabilitation and wearable robotics can be quantified by changes in biomechanics and through the use of biosensors. The proposed Research Topic invites theoretical and experimental research dealing with novel techniques for quantifying biomechanics, sensing, and bio-inspired control in rehabilitation and wearable robotics. For example, the use of biologically inspired actuators no longer requires rigid supports, as the skeletal system can be used to that end; the application of synergies or motor primitives has led to a reduction in the number of actuators or to improve their control. The latest advances in modeling and simulation made it possible to assess and control fatigue or simulate using such devices outside of a clinical environment. These research achievements enable a new generation of rehabilitation and wearable robotics.
