"Al and Danny cut to a depth that most calisthenic practitioners will never reach. What you have before you is a well researched, practical approach to achieving your fitness goals through bodyweight training, produced by the experts in their field." --Jeff Cavaliere MSPT, CSCS ATHLEAN-X(tm) "In Arnold's classic book, The Education of a Bodybuilder, Arnold stresses the importance of bodyweight training. His insights are brilliant, correct and... completely ignored. Danny and Al once again remind us of the need for bodyweight training in their new book, Next Level Strength. I have been using the techniques that Danny and Al have taught me personally and I continue to make progress well after the age of sixty. This is amazing information brought to you by two of the best people I know." --Dan John, Author of The Hardstyle Kettlebell Challenge "Next Level Strength takes all the power of old school calisthenics and blasts it to a higher level! Just when I think the Kavadlo library of advanced calisthenics cannot possibly be improved upon, they raise the game for everyone else! Next Level Strength is brilliant...make no mistake: this is the ULTIMATE manual on using rings and parallettes as old school calisthenics tools. As I've gotten older I've found myself utilizing the techniques in this awesome book more and more...the result has ALWAYS been the same: old aches and pains vanish, my joints heal, I gain fresh muscle, and I make breakthroughs in total-body strength. If you have seen rings and parallettes in gyms and were wondering how to use them to take your training to the next level quickly and safely, or if you are just looking for new tools to explode your athleticism beyond your old limits, Next Level Strength belongs on your bookshelf! 10/10!" --Paul "Coach" Wade, Author of Convict Conditioning "Danny and Al Kavadlo have truly taken their already masterful bodyweight strength instruction to the next level with Next Level Strength. Rings and parallettes are great training tools, but the genius of this book is in the exercise selection and progressions. The program is accessible to the beginner, while giving the advanced trainee all they can handle. Most importantly, the program is fun and goal oriented, and will be in regular rotation with my own training. The Kavadlos always set the bar high with the quality of their books, and I think this one will become my favorite, which is saying a lot. Next Level Strength should be on the bookshelf of any serious student of strength. Highly recommended!" --Dr. Chris Hardy, co-author of Strong Medicine

BONUS: Buy the Paperback Version from Amazon and Get FREE Access to the Kindle Version If you've encountered plateaus with your current strength training program and you can't seem to get over this slump no matter what you do, then keep reading... What's your max squat? How much ya bench? What's your best deadlift? Can you press your bodyweight? Today, pushing quantifiable expressions of strength, like your maxes, is becoming increasingly ubiquitous. However, though strength may be specific, real strength is much more than a powerlifting total - it's about resilience, capability and adaptability. It's survival of the fittest after all, not the strongest. But most strength training programs emphasize mastering only one factor of strength - technicality via neuromuscular efficiency, which happens to be the least transferable factor of strength too. There are other factors of strength that should be trained, which offer more carryover to other sports as well as to other aspects of life. In fact, your training should be specific to you, and it should be dependent on your training advancement, goals and weaknesses. Yet I see many strength enthusiasts make the same mistake I once made Get addicted to the simplicity of beginner linear progression programs and try to run them forever. But proper training doesn't have to be complicated; you can continue to have simple programming as you enter the intermediate and advanced stages of your lifting career. With my simple yet revolutionary 4-step training system, train all factors of strength at the same time and become a stronger, better and more confident you. Referencing some of the best powerlifting and strength coaches, discover: What your training advancement is according to a comprehensive classification chart compiled from 5 different coaches, and how to correct your training so that it matches your real experience level (pg. 61) What to prioritize at each training advancement, and why most of you should not be fixated on either technical mastery or periodization (pg. 74) How to properly autoregulate your training using RPE according to its founder, champion powerlifter and renowned powerlifting coach, Mike Tuchscherer (pg. 110) What you know about volume is WRONG: Discover how to properly measure and regulate training volume according to 2 experts, a champion powerlifter and an Olympic coach (pg. 112) What real strength entails and, contrary to Mark Bell's claim that strength is never a weakness, how and when strength is a weakness (pg. 8) The most important training variable no one talks about, and 2 equally important ones that are forgotten (ignore these and you will never reach your potential) (pg. 121, 125) Why exercises like the deadlift are great for displaying strength, but aren't the best for developing strength (and what the best exercises for developing strength actually are!) (pg. 135) Why you can benefit from dropping the overhead press from your strength training arsenal, according to Glenn Pendlay, Dr. Mike Israetel, and more (pg. 153) What the greatest indicator of strength is, and how to best develop it according to evidence-based researchers who squat well over 600 lbs (pg. 41) Whether you are a novice running Starting Strength or are a seasoned powerlifter with over 400 Wilks, you too can benefit from reading this book. With observations from Mark Rippetoe, Chad Wesley Smith, Greg Nuckols, and more, you will find both practical and theoretical advice on how to take your training to the next level. FOREWORD BY THE AUTHOR 'There are many ways to skin a cat', as my old gran used to say, but some ways are better than others, and some will leave you with a bloody mess. This old fashioned non 'PC' quote applies to many things, and strength training is no exception. You could say, 'there are many ways to lift a barbell', and of course you would be right, the different approaches and methods that may be applied in training to gain strength are very varied, from the simple and practical to the weird and dangerous, but, it has to be said that even a totally impractical and downright weird training plan may work well for someone out there! During the last 45 years I have been exposed to just about every type of training programme for speed, endurance, strength and power development, and I have seen and felt the effects from good and bad training methods. Getting worthwhile advice on strength training has always been difficult. Why? The simple reason is that very few gyms employ coaches who know the subject in any detail. I have run, coached in, and trained in many gyms across the UK, and the picture isn't good at all. If you want to lose some fat, get a bit fitter for a sport, or gain a few pounds of muscle there are plenty of instructors and gym owners who will be more than capable of getting you on the right track to start with, but what do they recommend after three months and progress has stalled? What if your goal is to get a lot stronger for your athletics? Who is going to show you the way? Does your current gym instructor or coach know how to develop your training plan to get you through to the next level, ask them about recovery and intensity to see what they say, ask them what are the keys to success and how you can incorporate them into your training plan. Many just regurgitate the same old crap that they were told, or assumed, and will rarely have done any research themselves or looked beyond their current knowledge. This book provides the detail you need to ensure your training moves up a gear and beyond what you imagined was possible, it will equip you with the knowledge needed to find success in building great strength. Several of the key concepts you're about to encounter are probably a complete mystery to those in your gym and those that purport to coach you, read on and soon you will have the knowledge to step out of the shadows and into the fast lane!
