Pembangunan Kekuatan Minimum Komponen Utama Pertahanan Negara Di Era New Normal written by Ahmad Budiman and has been published by Publica Indonesia Utama this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-11-02 with Political Science categories.

Media Research written by Marshall McLuhan and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-01-02 with Social Science categories.

Herbert Marshall McLuhan (1911-1980) received his PhD in English literature from Cambridge University and taught in the United States and Canada. He is best known, however, as the founding father of media studies. McLuhan was Director of the Center for Culture and Technology at the University of Toronto. Among his ground-breaking works on the psychic and social dimensions of communication technology are The Gutenberg Galaxy (1962); Understanding Media: the Extensions of Man (1964); and The Medium Is the Massage: An Inventory of Effects (1967). Michel Moos' premise is that Marshall McLuhan's importance derives from his achievements in rethinking the entire process of education and training itself, not with his popular fame as media guru, and he analyzes McLuhan's work from the feedback effect his vision continues to provide, rather than from the perspective of interpreting McLuhan's pronouncements on the electronic media. Moos contrasts McLuhan's thoughts with those of such thinkers as Roland Barthes, Fredric Jameson, Friedrich Kittler, Donna Haraway, and Deleuze and Guattari, and renders an updated account of the effect of the mass media on our society and ourselves. The concept "the medium is the message" is the hub around which Marshall McLuhan's explorations revolved. McLuhan's interests ranged from sixteenth-century literature to twentieth-century business practices. With wit and literary flair, he reported the media's influence on society and on the individual. He concluded that we could not escape being transformed by the forces that are hidden deeply within the electronic telecommunications revolution of the sixties. For McLuhan, the new mediums of film, television, and the emerging realm of the digital were the modern equivalent of Gutenberg's printing press. Essays by M. McLuhan. Edited and with a Commentary by M.A. Moos.

Archive Fever written by Jacques Derrida and has been published by University of Chicago Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1996 with Philosophy categories.

As a depository of civic record and social history whose very name derives from the Greek word for town hall, the archive would seem to be a public entity, yet it is stocked with the personal, even intimate, artifacts of private lives. It is this inherent tension between public and private which inaugurates, for Derrida, an inquiry into the human impulse to preserve, through technology as well as tradition, both a historical and a psychic past. What emerges is a marvelous expansive work, engaging at once Judaic mythos, Freudian psychoanalysis, and Marxist materialism in a profound reflection on the real, the unreal, and the virtual.

In this political communication text, Richard M. Perloff examines the various ways in which messages are constructed and communicated from public officials and politicians through the mass media to the ultimate receivers-the people. With a focus on the history of political communication, he provides an overview of the most significant issues in the study of politics and the media. In addition to synthesizing facts and theories, and highlighting the scholarly contributions made to the understanding of political communication effects, Political Communication addresses such factors as the rhetorical accomplishments of American presidents, the ongoing tangles between the press and the presidency, and the historical roots of politics as it is practiced and studied today. It also addresses major issues about the press and politics that continually resurface, such as question of press bias and the use and manipulation of media by politicians to accomplish national goals. As a comprehensive and engaging introduction to contemporary political communication, this volume provides all readers with a historical perspective on American politics and press and offers a unique appreciation of the strengths and virtues of political communication in America.

For courses in Social Problems. Understanding Social Problems: Sparking the Sociological Imagination Through a Theme-Based Approach Extensively updated and revised, and now emphasizing signature concepts that reflect the perspective of new author Karen Seccombe, this Fifteenth Edition of Social Problems maintains its focus on one overarching goal–to spark a sociological imagination. The text’s pedagogical devices help readers to more clearly see how many individual issues and personal problems are rooted in the social arrangements of society. Four major themes guide this edition of the text: an empirical methodology; linking individual experience with social structure; recognizing that social inequality contributes to social problems; and a comparative approach. With features that emphasize first-person accounts, recent problems in the public spotlight, critical discussion of partisan debates, and a global view of social problems, this Fifteenth Edition of the text explores social problems that are relevant and engaging to readers–from same-sex marriage to police use of force to climate change.
