SeattleA[a¬a[s Historic Restaurants depicts an era of nostalgia and romanticism, and highlights historic photographs of restaurants, postcards, and menus. From 1897 to 1898, thousands of so-called stampeders came through Seattle on their way to the Klondike goldfields. Hungry stampeders could purchase a meal at the MerchantA[a¬a[s CafAA(c) (the oldest cafAA(c) in Seattle) or one of the many restaurants nearby. For the next 25 years, those who made it rich in Seattle were the restaurateurs, shop owners, and real estate owners. Famous local landmarks such as the Space Needle, Mount RainierA[a¬a[s Paradise Camp, Snoqualmie Falls, and the Empress Hotel are still here, but their menus and clientele have changed over the years. Local haunts like IvarA[a¬a[s Acres of Clams, The Dog House, AndyA[a¬a[s Diner, ClarkA[a¬a[s Restaurants, Coon Chicken Inn, Frederick and NelsonA[a¬a[s Tea Room, The Wharf, VonA[a¬a[s, The Purple Pup, and the Jolly Roger are just a few of the restaurants featured within.

Catching Terrosits in America , analyzes the law enforcement agencies and procedures utilized in catching domestic and foreign terrorists from the 1950s to the present, including members of domestic groups ranging from the Klan to the Symbionese Liberation Army of Patty Heart fame to freelancers such as Timothy McVeigh, as well as foreign groups such as al-Qaeda. The author concludes by gauging the effectiveness of these efforts.Terrorism did not first strike America on 9/11/2001, or even with the first World Trade Center bombings in 1993. Much of the second half of the 20th century witnessed terrorism of several different ideological types: the Klan, the Black Liberation Army, the Weather Underground, the Symbionese Liberation Army (famous for kidnapping and brainwashing Patty Hearst), several Puerto Rican groups; freelancers such as the Unabomber Ted Kaczinski and the Oklahoma city bombers McVeigh and Rudolph; and on the foreign front not just al-Qaeda but the likes of the liberation fronts for Croatians, Armenians and Cubans. This book examines the law enforcement fight against such terrorists, the methodologies employed, the effectiveness of such counter-terrorist agendas and how successful they proved to be. and

The subject of this fictional novel is the adventurous career of Sam Adams, a talented individual who decided when he was a freshman in high school to pursue a career as a Civil Engineer. As a young adult he developed numerous sexually active relationships with young ladies who were definitely attracted to him. He in turn was also attracted to the young ladies, particularly Sue Hall, a strikingly beautiful statuesque blonde he met while he was on liberty during his Navy boot training. He soon discovered they shared many common interests and although he realized marriage was definitely out of the question at the present time, he vowed to keep in touch with her. Some three years later when they got together again, he knew he loved her so deeply that despite all of the romantic escapades he had enjoyed with other young ladies, none of them could hold a candle to Sue. Immediately after Sam completed college with a degree in Civil Engineering, they were married, a marriage that formed the foundation for a family of five talented children and Sam's career as a successful Civil Engineer. After a long successful career that included many large engineering projects in the western United States as well as overseas projects in Asia, Australia, and South America, Sam retired as the President of Hanover Engineering, one of the most efficient and prosperous global Civil Engineering firms in the world. Sam and Sue enjoyed many happy retirement years together as they spent their winters in their beautiful home overlooking the Pacific Ocean in the San Francisco Bay Area with all of the amenities of a great city and their spring, winter, and fall months on their Montana Ranch with the majestic peaks of the Rocky Mountains always in view.
