Este volumen supone una contribución relevante a la extensión del conocimiento existente sobre la actuación de la censura durante el franquismo en lo que se refiere a la producción de nuestras escritoras. En sus distintos capítulos hay que destacar la unidad de su concepción metodológica, fruto de la aplicación de modelos, teorías y métodos sistemáticos en todas sus partes. Estos se basan en la utilización de un corpus textual común (la producción narrativa de las escritoras españolas en la posguerra) y de una base documental también común a todos ellos: el Archivo General de la Administración de Alcalá de Henares, en el que se encuentran depositados los expedientes generados por el aparato censor durante el franquismo.
