School Based Learning Programme is a mode of study undertaken by teachers who are already in the teaching profession. This programme is offered during the school holidays in April, August and December and in the evenings and weekends. The programme affects the teachers’ performance in their respective secondary schools either positively or negatively. This study was guided by five main objectives: To determine the effect of School Based Learning Programme on teacher’s effectiveness on planning for instruction, on lesson content delivery, teacher’s evaluation skills, on development of Student-Teacher relationship and finally to examine the effect on their use of teaching- learning resources on their teaching. The study employed descriptive survey design. 356 teachers, 36 head teachers, one Quality Assurance and Standards Officer which formed a target population of 393 respondents.

The objectives of the study were to establish whether the availability of qualified teachers of lower primary English, affects English performance; to find out whether the class size affects performance in lower primary; to find out whether the availability of English textbooks affects English performance in lower primary schools and to examine whether the availability and use of teaching aids in lower primary affects English language performance. The study used descriptive survey research design. The study was carried out in Baringo Central Sub-County, Baringo County. The study was grounded on the learning theory. The target population was 3,200 pupils 39 Head teachers and 39 Subject teachers. The sample comprised 273 pupils, 39 Head teachers and 39 subject teachers. Purposive and simple random sampling was employed to sample the respondents. The research instruments were pre-tested in Baringo North Sub-County with a selected pilot sample identical to the actual sample that was used for the study to check any deficiencies in the research instruments. Data was collected using questionnaires and interviews and analyzed using descriptive statistics in particular measure of central tendency and the results were analyzed with the aid of Spreadsheets and Word processing software. The study concluded that most pupils had limited/ insufficient access to learning materials, most teachers are overloaded and lack English language specialization. This study was conceived after the realization that there had been increased cases of teacher attrition (transfers and resignation) in the past three years. For example, teachers’ transfers had been increasing by 5.2 percent annually while teachers resigning from their jobs had been on a steady increase. The objectives of the study were to establish the extent to which head teachers apply inspirational motivational approaches and idealized influence, on teachers’ job satisfaction in Belgut Sub County primary schools. The theoretical framework for this study was based on transformational leadership theory developed by Burns (1978) and elaborated by Bass (1985). The study adopted an ex post facto and descriptive survey research designs. The study was conducted in Belgut Sub County, Belgut County. The target population for the study comprised of 52 head teachers and 667 teachers employed by TSC. The sample size studied comprised of 16 head teachers who were purposively selected and 200 teachers who were selected using stratified and simple random sampling methods. The study used questionnaires to collect data. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability prior to being used in the field. The data collected from the field was analyzed using mixed method approaches. Statistical Package for Social Sciences aided in data entry, coding and analysis of quantitative data from questionnaires. In presenting analysed quantitative data, descriptive statistics indicating frequency, percentages, means, and standard deviations were executed to analyze the data quantitatively while inferential statistics: multiple regression analysis and T-test correlation were used to check on the relationship between various transformational leadership strategies and teachers job satisfaction.

Also teachers are essential to pupils’ achievement in mathematics; their characteristics such as commitment, qualification, teaching abilities are significant to pupils’ levels of achievement. The success or failure of any academic program depends largely on the teacher ability to deliver which is a function of teachers’ qualification, experience, and commitment. This study examined the teachers’ quality factors that are thought to affect pupils’ achievement in mathematics in primary six. The study used teachers and pupils, to obtain data, a total of 70 respondents were randomly selected from five primary schools of Kyondo sub-county, Kasese district. Basing on the findings of the study, it was revealed that first, the teachers’ qualification and experience are not significant to pupils’ level of achievement in mathematics. While teachers’ level of commitment is highly significant to the pupils’ level of achievement in mathematics. Therefore the low level of pupils’ achievement in mathematics at primary in Kyondo sub-county is mainly as a result of low levels of teacher commitment to classroom activities.
