Modern organisations are subject to continual change - technologies evolve, organisational structures are modified, people and underlying cultures are transformed. Yet the facilities that organisations occupy are static and can impede the changes that are essential to organisational survival. The response to change in terms of property and support services is often too little too late - leading to facilities that do not support organisational reality. The facilities management team is thus constantly challenged to bridge the gap between what an organisation has and what it needs. Facilities Change Management is a practical evaluation of the management of change for facilities managers and related professions. It considers: the forces of change affecting facilities decisions the obstacles to change at a resource level and human level the effective implementation of change the human aspect of change Each of these is considered in relation to modern facilities management issues. Dando continuidade aos dois livros já publicados no âmbito do projeto «On Being With-it»: Experiências Pedagógicas sobre Território nas Escola de Arquitetura e Diálogo Prospetivo sobre a Experiência de Aprendizagem através do Território, ambos publicados em 2017, este terceiro livro apresenta nove textos da autoria de professores e investigadores estrangeiros que visitaram a Escola de Arquitetura da Universidade do Minho (EAUM) ao longo dos últimos anos, ou com os quais os professores da área de Cidade e Território da EAUM têm uma proximidade disciplinar. O objetivo primordial deste livro é o de contribuir para o questionamento e a valorização da prática pedagógica daquilo que podemos denominar como «being with-places». Relembrando que na aprendizagem podem ser convocadas pessoas e lugares cuja distância física, social ou organizacional poderia justificar o distanciamento. Following on from the two previous books published within project “On Being With-it”: Pedagogical Experiments on Territory on Architecture Schools and A Forward-Looking Dialogue on the Experience of Learning through Territory, both published in 2017, this third book presents nine texts by foreign professors and researchers who visited the School of Architecture at the University of Minho (EAUM) over the past few years, or with whom EAUM City and Territory professors share a disciplinary proximity. The main goal of this book is to contribute to the questioning and enhancement of the pedagogical practice of what we can call “being with-places”. Recalling that in learning one can summon people and places whose physical, social or organizational non-proximity could justify a distancing.

Defendemos ser urgente um projeto que busque uma alternativa, por um lado, à receita de tornar compacto o nãocompacto e, por outro, à simples inclusão da condição de não-lugar, não-cidade e não-edificado numa nova epistemologia ampliada do urbanismo. Post-compact city presents the hypothesis that another view on modern urbanism may provide us with clues for dealing with the challenges of the contemporary urban phenomenon. We argue that there is an urgent need for a design strategy that provides an alternative for, on the one hand, a recipe in order to make the non-compact compact and, on the other, the simple inclusion of the condition of non-place, non-city and unbuilt in a new expanded epistemology of urbanism.

How to teach and learn architectural history? To answer this question, eight important panoramic books on Brazilian architecture, produced at different times in the twentieth century and early twenty-first, are revisited. The organizer and her research team explored the possibility of combining quantitative measurement extracted from these books with interpretations of a more subjective nature, revealing complex, non-intuitive, and unexpected paradoxes, shaping some of the "canon's voids". The book presents a methodological set of tools for the critical revision of repeated ideas and axioms converted into canons, allowing for questioning, and opening new paths.
