Understanding And Designing Computer Networks written by Graham King and has been published by Butterworth-Heinemann this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1995-03-17 with Computers categories.

Understanding and Designing Computer Networks considers the ubiquitous nature of data networks, with particular reference to internetworking and the efficient management of all aspects of networked integrated data systems. In addition it looks at the next phase of networking developments; efficiency and security are covered in the sections dealing with data compression and data encryption; and future examples of network operations, such as network parallelism, are introduced. A comprehensive case study is used throughout the text to apply and illustrate new techniques and concepts as they are introduced. Presented in a format which is specifically tailored to modular courses, this comprehensive text should be essential reading for undergraduates in the fields of computer science, electronics or telecommunications.

Understanding Virtual Design Studios written by Mary L. Maher and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Computers categories.

The idea of a Virtual Design Studio (VDS) has been around for many years. In the early days, establishing a way of transferring documents by file transfer was enough to establish a virtual design studio. Our expectations are greater now. Along with document transfer, we expect to be able to work with others at a distance as if they were in the same physical room. We have seen how email, video conferences, and shared whiteboards can provide environments in which we can do many of the things we are used to doing face to face. The internet has changed the way we communicate at a personal level and now affects the way we work professionally. Along with the new technology and the initial excitement, we have also experienced frustration when our expectations are beyond the capability for the technology to deliver. This frustration is due to the relative immaturity of software solutions to collaboration, and also due to the lack of software support for designing. We cannot just take a set of tools off the shelf and create a virtual design studio. We first need to understand what is possible in a virtual design studio, and then understand what the technology can provide. At a more fundamental level, we need to understand the differences between working in the physical presence of our collaborators and using technology to allow us to communicate at a distance.

Computer Networks written by Larry L. Peterson and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003-05-27 with Computers categories.

In this new edition of their classic and bestselling textbook, authors Larry Peterson and Bruce Davie continue to emphasize why networks work the way they do. Their "system approach" treats the network as a system composed of interrelated building blocks (as opposed to strict layers), giving students and professionals the best possible conceptual foundation on which to understand current networking technologies, as well as the new ones that will quickly take their place.Incorporating instructor and user feedback, this edition has also been fully updated and includes all-new material on MPLS and switching, wireless and mobile technology, peer-to-peer networks, Ipv6, overlay and content distribution networks, and more. As in the past, all instruction is rigorously framed by problem statements and supported by specific protocol references, C-code examples, and thought-provoking end-of-chapter exercises.Computer Networks: A Systems Approach remains an essential resource for a successful classroom experience and a rewarding career in networking. - Written by an author team with over thirty years of first-hand experience in networking research, development, and teaching--two leaders in the work of defining and implementing many of the protocols discussed in the book. - Includes all-new coverage and updated material on MPLS and switching, wireless and mobile technology, peer-to-peer networks, Ipv6, overlay and content distribution networks, VPNs, IP-Telephony, network security, and multimedia communications (SIP, SDP). - Additional and earlier focus on applications in this edition makes core protocols more accessible and more meaningful to readers already familiar with networked applications. - Features chapter-framing statements, over 400 end-of-chapter exercises, example exercises(with solutions), shaded sidebars covering advanced topics, web resources and other proven pedagogical features.
