Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Interkulturelle Pädagogik, Note: 1,3, Universität zu Köln (Humanwissenschaftliche Fakultät), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Mit der Globalisierung gewinnt das Thema des Zusammenlebens von verschiedenen Kulturen an immer größerer Aktualität. Menschen verlassen, bedingt durch Aussiedlungen, Familienzusammenführungen, politisch oder wirtschaftlich motivierte Flucht ihr Heimatland, um sich ein neues Leben in einem anderen Land aufzubauen. Deutschland ist mittlerweile eines der wichtigsten Einwanderungsländer der Welt.Hier leben aktuell rund 82 Millionen Einwohner, darunter etwa 15,4 Millionen mit Migrationshintergrund - Tendenz steigend. Dabei liegt der Fokus in der Öffentlichkeit, insbesondere auf türkischen Einwanderern, die den größten Einwanderungsteil in Deutschland ausmachen. Die zweitgrößte Gruppe bilden (Spät-)Aussiedler, die oftmals die deutsche Staatsangehörigkeit besitzen. Generell wird in Bezug auf Migrantengruppen häufig der Aspekt des Sprachumgangs diskutiert. Auch in der vorliegenden Diplomarbeit wird der Sprachumgang untersucht, wobei in diesem Zusammenhang die zentrale Fragestellung dieser Arbeit entstand und zwar ob es Unterschiede in der Sozialisation zwischen ein- und zweisprachig Aufgewachsenendeutschen (Spät-)Aussiedlern aus Polen gibt. Dazu wurden folgende Fragen thematisiert: Gibt es signifikante Unterschiede innerhalb der drei Sozialisationsphasen? Dazu wurde untersucht, welche Sprachen innerhalb der Familie verwendet wurden und wie die schulischen als auch beruflichen Werdegänge bei den Probanden aussahen. Weiterhin wurden sowohl die Freundeskreise als auch die Partnerwahl auf ihre Zusammensetzung der Nationalitäten hin geprüft. Zuletzt stellte sich die Frage nach dem Identitätsgefühl. Fühlen sich zweisprachig Aufgewachsene aufgrund ihrer Sozialisation eher polnisch und haben einen stärkeren Bezug zu ihrem ursprünglichen Heimatland Polen?[...]

This book offers an inclusive perspective on the constellation of languages in Europe by taking into account official state languages, regional minority languages and immigrant minority languages. Although "celebrating linguistic diversity" is one of the key propositions in the European discourse on multilingualism and language policies, this device holds for these three types of languages in a decreasing order. All three types of languages, however, are constituent parts of a multilingual European identity and should be taken into account in any type of language policy. Both facts and policies on multilingualism and plurilingual education are addressed in case studies at the national and European level. The selection of case studies is based on a careful weighing of geographical spread of countries and languages across Europe on the one hand, and availability of established expert knowledge on the other. After an Introduction to the theme of the book (Guus Extra and Durk Gorter), Part I deals with official state languages with a focus on the spread of English as lingua franca across Europe (Juliane House), on French and France (Dennis Ager), on Polish in Poland and abroad (Justyna Lesniewśka), and on language constellations in the Baltic States (Gabrielle Hogan-Brun).
