Biomechanics Of Anthropomorphic Systems written by Gentiane Venture and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-08-01 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Mechanical laws of motion were applied very early for better understanding anthropomorphic action as suggested in advance by Newton «For from hence are easily deduced the forces of machines, which are compounded of wheels, pullies, levers, cords, and weights, ascending directly or obliquely, and other mechanical powers; as also the force of the tendons to move the bones of animals». In the 19th century E.J. Marey and E. Muybridge introduced chronophotography to scientifically investigate animal and human movements. They opened the field of motion analysis by being the first scientists to correlate ground reaction forces with kinetics. Despite of the apparent simplicity of a given skilled movement, the organization of the underlying neuro-musculo-skeletal system remains unknown. A reason is the redundancy of the motor system: a given action can be realized by different muscle and joint activity patterns, and the same underlying activity may give rise to several movements. After the pioneering work of N. Bernstein in the 60’s on the existence of motor synergies, numerous researchers «walking on the border» of their disciplines tend to discover laws and principles underlying the human motions and how the brain reduces the redundancy of the system. These synergies represent the fundamental building blocks composing complex movements. In robotics, researchers face the same redundancy and complexity challenges as the researchers in life sciences. This book gathers works of roboticists and researchers in biomechanics in order to promote an interdisciplinary research on anthropomorphic systems at large and on humanoid robotics in particular.

This book gathers a selection of papers presented at ROBOT 2019 – the Fourth Iberian Robotics Conference, held in Porto, Portugal, on November 20th–22nd, 2019. ROBOT 2019 is part of a series of conferences jointly organized by the SPR – Sociedade Portuguesa de Robótica (Portuguese Society for Robotics) and SEIDROB – Sociedad Española para la Investigación y Desarrollo en Robótica (Spanish Society for Research and Development in Robotics). ROBOT 2019 built upon several previous successful events, including three biannual workshops and the three previous installments of the Iberian Robotics Conference, and chiefly focused on presenting the latest findings and applications in robotics from the Iberian Peninsula, although the event was also open to research and researchers from other countries. The event featured five plenary talks on state-of-the-art topics and 16 special sessions, plus a main/general robotics track. In total, after a stringent review process, 112 high-quality papers written by authors from 24 countries were selected for publication.

Smart Trajectories written by Azedine Boulmakoul and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-12-30 with Computers categories.

This book highlights the developments, discoveries, and practical and advanced experiences related to responsive distributed computing and how it can support the deployment of trajectory-based applications in smart systems. Smart Trajectories: Metamodeling, Reactive Architecture for Analytics and Smart Applications deals with the representation and manipulation of smart trajectories in various applications and scenarios. Presented in three parts, the book first discusses the foundation and principles for spatial information systems, complex event processing, and building a reactive architecture. Next, the book discusses modeling and architecture in relation to smart trajectory metamodeling, mining and big trajectory data, and clustering trajectories. The final section discusses advanced applications and trends in the field, including congestion trajectory analytics and real-time Big Data analytics in cloud ecosystems. Metamodeling, distributed architectures, reactive programming, Big Data analytics, NoSQL databases, connected objects, and edge-fog-cloud computing form the basis of the concepts and applications discussed. The book also presents a number of case studies to demonstrate smart trajectories related to spatiotemporal events such as traffic congestion and pedestrian accidents. This book is intended for graduate students in computer engineering, spatial databases, complex event processing, distributed systems, and geographical information systems (GIS). The book will also be useful for practicing traffic engineers, city managers, and environmental engineers interested in monitoring and security analysis.
