Aktuelle Forschungsbefunde weisen auf eine große Heterogenität der Lernvoraussetzungen von Kindern im Anfangsunterricht der Grundschule hin. Vor dem Hintergrund, dass die Adaptivität des Unterrichts als ein zentrales Merkmal von Unterrichtsqualität angesehen wird, gehört es demnach zu den Kernaufgaben von pädagogischen Fachkräften, die Lernvoraussetzungen ihrer Schülerinnen und Schüler zu diagnostizieren und sie darauf aufbauend in ihrer weiteren Entwicklung individuell zu unterstützen. Bislang liegen allerdings kaum Untersuchungen dazu vor, wie im Anfangsunterricht der Grundschule tätige pädagogische Fachkräfte diesen hohen Anforderungen an ihre professionelle Handlungskompetenz begegnen. Ziel der Untersuchung ist es daher, aus verschiedenen Perspektiven die Diagnose- und Förderpraxis pädagogischer Fachkräfte im Anfangsunterricht näher in den Blick zu nehmen. Hierzu werden sowohl theoretische Hintergründe und bereits vorliegende Forschungsbefunde zum Thema erörtert als auch die Ergebnisse zweier Studien dargelegt, die in das FiS-Projekt ('Förderung der Lern- und Bildungsprozesse von Kindern in der Schuleingangsphase') integriert sind. In Studie I wurde auf quantitativer Ebene die Diagnose- und Förderpraxis von pädagogischen Fachkräften speziell im schriftsprachlichen Anfangsunterricht genauer untersucht, während in der primär qualitativ angelegten Studie II Wochenplanarbeit als ein möglicher Rahmen für die Umsetzung von Diagnose und Förderung fokussiert wurde. Melanie Eckerth war nach ihrem Studium und Referendariat für das Lehramt der Grundschule zunächst im Rahmen eines Graduiertenförderprogrammes und anschließend als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität Münster tätig. Seit 2010 arbeitet sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin im Bereich Allgemeine Didaktik und Pädagogik der Grundschule an der Universität zu Köln. Ihre Arbeits- und Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen u.a. in den Bereichen Dignose und Förderung, Übergang von der Kindertageseinrichtung in die Grundschule, Öffnung von Unterricht und Jahrgangsmischung

From 3rd to 5th of September 2015 the 17th international ProMath conference (Problem Solving in Mathematics Education) took place at the Faculty of Education of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (Germany). For the first time, it was combined with the annual meeting of the working group “Problem Solving” of the Society of Didactics of Mathematics. This book contains 20 peer reviewed articles of researchers from five European countries. The topics of the papers evolved around different areas of learning and problem solving. There are some theoretical papers on problem oriented mathematics instruction and specific aspects of problem solving and creativity as well as reports on detailed studies of problem solving processes of pupils and preservice teachers. Authors also present experiences with “real” problem solving instruction in different countries, considerations and teaching experiments on didactic concepts to foster pupils’ problem solving abilities, and they describe mathematically rich problem fields and their potentials for mathematical investigations in class. ProMath is a group of experienced and early career researchers in the field of mathematics education who are interested in investigating and fostering mathematical problem solving and problem oriented mathematics teaching.
