The Little Book of Yoga Themes contains 52 suggested themes for yoga classes taken from class notes collected over the years I have been teaching. Each theme is a suggestion of a subject for creating a yoga class around, some are anatomical, or the changing seasons, the Chakras or emotions. Within each topic there are a few warm up poses, main poses and some cool down poses all working around the same idea or into the same body area. Then, adding in a hand mudra, a mantra, a suggested pranayama practice and some words of wisdom, to help to build the theme, and deliver a very distinct message to your students. I find in my teaching when I have a topic in mind, it helps me structure the class, and the practice flows effortlessly. Working to a specific subject also helps me get quickly back on track, as I know what I am trying to teach. Love and light to all in your teachings Namaste.

How do yoga instructors awaken the hearts of their students? By connecting yoga's physical postures with spiritual significance through theme. By asking the question: "What makes your heart sing?" this book will guide instructors to create "heart-opening" theme-based classes by using a model that includes lesson plans designed to target four types of learning preferences. As instructors develop their class lesson plans and themes, meaningful connections will be made with the entire class and soon, hearts will sing!

YOGA THEMES, INSPIRING MEMORABLE LESSONS: Illustrated themes for teachers planning classes and anyone practising on their own. As an advertising Art Director I learnt how to communicate ideas clearly in an accurate, compelling and interesting way. It's been a joy to be able to apply these skills to yoga, which I've been teaching for nearly 30 years. THIS BOOK: is for all styles of yoga with no lists of postures, Sanskrit or gurus. It has insights about the inner experience of doing yoga. THEMES: My most effective classes have been those where I started out with a clear vision of what I intended to communicate. A theme used as a thread to wind through the practice. Themes offer teachers the freedom to react to circumstances. To adapt to the pupil while still imparting (or learning) something specific, tangible and memorable. I hope you'll be inspired to use these themes in your own way. If they work for you, please pass them on. Su Sareen
